Corvette Expedition 19

I was flying through space in my corvette and the ship just disappeared leaving me floating in space.

I also flew into a system and fought a pirate dreadnaught. after landing and taking off with the corvette, the corvette weapons were firing from random locations and not from my ship.

I landed on a different npc freighter, the corvette disappeared the moment I got out of the pilot seat and I got wedged in the freighter’s geometry.

Also, with the 6.4 patch, lighting no longer works properly on my freighter. > _ <

lots of issues.

As @sheralmyst has already suggested, if Hello Games were asking the question “Does modular shipbuilding break the game?”, then they have their answer. Yes, it does.

A player ran in my ship on the station. I asked Do you need to hitch a ride?

They said, No. I have a ship

I took off anyway and said, For the milestone

They suddenly said, Oh. Apparently I did need a ride. Thanks!

I guess many players do not look ahead

Nope, sometimes I think only a few of us, read through the missions at the beginning of an expedition once sitting somewhere safe. Like reading the paper while on the toilet. XD

I mainly read ahead to avoid having to backtrack later on because I missed something in a previous system where the milestone would be a straight forward task, (as opposed to finding myself needing something in particular… & of course having to warp 20 times to find it).

Its also sometimes very handy to get certain rewards early & makes the rest of the expedition easier going.

I wash my hands of that! Kidding…was actually fun and taught me what I need to know as a beginning corvette builder. I know what I want for my main save and I know how to get it.

I seem to have had a lot less bug problems than most of you…blind luck maybe. But maybe it’s because I avoided the anomaly as completely as possible, which was pretty completely. I had no intention of keeping this save after the expedition, so the things the anomaly offers in terms of base parts and upgrades I mostly did without.

I also definitely recognize that playing on a computer was a big advantage. I could land on a planet and just shout at everyone in the system that I was willing and available to do the rideshare thing, and people came to me. Two corvettes in close proximity with an entire planet surface to work with do not seem to cause any problems for the game engine.

I think I missed that update.

Abiotic Factor has functioning toilets with gameplay mechanics. Its your main source of fertiliser, so long as you don’t flush!

I wouldn’t say no to fertiliser production facilities onboard our Corvette to give a boost of growth to our crops. It would serve more in-game purpose than a bed we can’t lie in and a kitchen we cant sit in (though I adore all of the things for their themed aesthetic variants)

Hi, I haven’t played in a while.

I’m having issues with the mission to add thrusters, I don’t have enough technology slot available. A quick Google didn’t help me.

I don’t think you can install 6 thrusters and get benefits from all of them anyways. Max is still 3. Just install the stuff, get the milestone, then tear it out again, I suppose. That’s what I plan on doing anyways, wouldn’t have anywhere to put this many thrusters on my corvette anyways…

But where do I get more thrusters? Generally the other milestones deliver those. So buying or searching?

I really haven’t played for over a year.

Edit: I’ll deconstruct my current corvette anyway at one point, not much of a builder.

I think if you look at the milestones there is one right after the ‘install thrusters’ where the reward is a pack of thrusters.

I had that milestone, yes. I possibly sold them by accident. Just bought some. Now only the hitchhiker mission left

You can trade parts for other parts, so you’re not relegated to just hoping that the RNG blesses you with a boatload of thrusters while scavenging.

At this point, I start thinking that it would also be a neat tie-in of the new features if we could craft corvette parts from scrap parts from starships. Would give scavenging starships some application other than just making money…

Salvageable scrap planets. You can dig up parts you need and trade at the new space station terminal for what you need. You are placing these thrusters in build mode and not in the tech slots.

They still take up tech slots, though - at least mine do. And the starter corvette has very few slots.

I’m inclined to @jedidia ‘s opinion - take something out, install thrusters, get the milestone, then take the thrusters out again (if you still need the slots)

Hmph. My storage lockers vanished without a trace from my corvette. I knew I shouldn’t have docked at that destitute space station. Them damn Geks are way too unscrupulous at taking advantage of unexpected “business opportunities”!
