Guess what I am watching today.

The E3 Playstation 2 reveal

I imagine you’re watching one of Sean’s favourite odyssey’s; A Space.

It wasn’t until I watched it yesterday that I realized the Ambassador Corvette interiors are definitely modeled on that movie.

Also, I do not recommend this cigarette carton shape for a ship. It was top heavy and very unweildy. and there is no view from the cockpit

I see you are trying to reset the simulation. Maybe I can help you with that?

This is what happens when players make awesome huge ships that normal folks can’t dare to compete with. :joy:

And hey! It is space. It makes no difference what the shape it…except of course, if you want to land it on a planet.

For fun, HG should have an expedition where every ship not designed properly for re-entry, burns up on descent

I’ve found having the titan legs by themselves makes calling a corvette or landing it very difficult, especially if it’s very large in size.

Putting the hover thrusters/landing gear remedies this entirely and your large corvette with chunky bug legs can suddenly land anywhere.

I have some landing thrusters on my turtle (as well as the titan legs) and it lands on even the most jankiest terrain.

This was an oversight on my part though, I just stuck them on for Aesthetic and I’d prefer this ship to land on its feet, not hover on its arse

Note to self, remember to take them off next time it’s in the shop.

You could have a special name for an organisation like that - how about “Space X?”

Put the Turtle on ice for the time being to work on my first “small as I can make it” Corvette.

For the internals I kept it down to a half hallway, the cockpit and the loading ramp.

Fitting all the required modules on and then making it look okay with hull parts has been quite tricky and I’ve already gone through 3 iterations of the design.

The original name no longer makes any sense, as it was based on the original design, but for legacy purposes I’m keeping it.

The first build I just stuck on 4 of the rock hopper wings. And I wanted it to be fast, Snappy, even.

So in honour of an age old quest from this very forum, I dubbed it The Four Leaf Snappy.

After a few flight tests I still felt it was a bit too chunky. I went in with the intention of streamlining it but doing what I can to keep the 4 wings. That didn’t quite pan out but I was happier with the new look.

I also used this opportunity to add roof access to the top and keep it clear, and then try blend it in with base decorations. I wasn’t really happy with how any of the diffusers or cowlings would lead into the cockpit from above so tried a different approach.

After some time flying the Mk.II around I realised the fins coming off the back might look good with hull bits to taper the underside of them. Then I realised I couldn’t stick the small winglets to the underside of the back fins without using hull extenders to get them into place first (and then removing the hull extennders).

What happened then was, I selected the wrong piece and immediately fell in love with the accidental design. I also had gone in with the intention of using the small rock hopper wing on one side to make room for a viewing window.

It has led to a non symetrical final design but also looks like I salvaged this ship from a near complete wreck and did a patch job on the bit that wasn’t mendable. It’s also a lot longer/wider than I intended out the rear, but I am happy with its current look. A few more test flights and if nothing sticks out or bothers me, I think this might be design complete.

The Four Leaf Snappy Mk.III , a.k.a Forelief Lafayette (I dunno it just popped into my head and is fun to say)

Still not sure if this is the precise window I want to go with, but I tried the other variants too to see how it looked shilouette wise. What do you guys think?

More Frankenstein than design. This is what I ended up with at the end of the expedition. More interesting was the lighting that happens when viewed from below on this particular planet.

REASONABLE RATES.

Well you certainly ought to be able to stay ahead of any supernova with that hyperdrive range.

I will take a room mid-deck. Unless the upper ones come with the ability to fire the cannons.

What is the going rate for escaping the end of the universe?

At the moment, I’m only available for it. Escape is currently under negotiation.

Given you views on fishing it seems unlikely that your rates for fishing trips would be reasonable…

Other people can fish as much as they like. Other people can stick pins in their eyes. You pay me a reasonable rate, and I’ll sit and watch you stick pins in your eyes.

The lighting effect reminds me of some old glow in the dark sci fi stickers that used to be on my fridge when I was a kid

Don’t trust this man, he’s trying to scam you. There are people who earn a good living charging people to observe them stick pins in their eyes.
