🎞 Content Creator's Coverage of Project Skyscraper

I think so long as you have uploaded in game your discoveries it should be yours permanently thereafter .. How long, I presume forever (unless one day Hellogames no longer have control of the servers, taken over by another company that does not care, or bankrupt).

I believe the game saves the system to your local discovery cache as self-discovered, but it should show up as undiscovered for anyone else who warps in later.

Now, the only case where this doesn’t happen afaik is if you land on a planet in a multiplayer session. Even if you don’t upload the planet, your “discovery” of it will be broadcast to all players in the session and their discovery caches will record you as the discoverer even if you didn’t upload it to the servers. I’m not entirely sure what the cooldown on this cache is though.

Thank YOU for creating them! They’re full of really interesting observations and have been so helpful explaining the ARG in an entertaining way.

Hello :waving_hand: :slightly_smiling_face:
I ended up turning the Project Skyscraper story into a song, written from System’s point of view (with the help of AI tools):
Weak Memories Never Last

@laChecktitude man .. I would buy that!. Brilliant.

I hope you anchor that as a memory

This whole ARG is permanently anchored in my brain now :joy:
I wasn’t much help with the puzzles at all, but I absolutely loved following the whole journey.

I just watched this 3 times, with Bose headphones on .. and tears came to my eyes. Beautiful, to me. I mean it has a limited audience for the memories associated, but its still a powerful song in its own right. Reminds me of that KPop Demon Hunters song “Golden”, its that good.

Wow
that’s such a huge honour  Thank you so much.
I’m really glad the song resonated with you that deeply :people_hugging:

It’s a cool track, powerful

Interesting. Did you only use AI for the music creation part ? Or did you tinker it yourself too ? The quality of the track as a whole sure sounds better than most SUNO or similar things out there on the internet. Still sounds overcompressed but it’s usual with AI-generated music. (And one thing it still hasn’t got right : distorted guitars :eyes: )

Just to be clear, I’m not trying to judge your track or state any opinion about this. As someone who plays, create and mixes music as a hobby I dabbled a bit with a few AI music gens just to see how it worked and then put it away, so I’m curious about your process !

Hello

I restructured the lore from the PSS ARG and worked on the lyrics myself. I’m French-speaking :wink:so I used ChatGPT to help with the English, working through the lyrics line by line until each one felt right to me.

And yes, I’ve been using Suno since version 3, back in May 2024:

You can definitely hear how much it has evolved since then.

I’m well aware that the audio quality isn’t at a professional level, more like “audio soup”, but these tools still let me create a whole playlist of personalised music around the things I’m passionate about, like No Man’s Sky, Light No Fire and our French NMS/LNF Discords.
Not trying to start a debate here, but it’s more about creating and sharing something within a smaller community around the things we love, rather than trying to compete with professional music. I think these tools open up a new, more accessible way of making music for hobbyists like me who don’t have access to “a studio or a band”. We even created a little community radio to share music made by Discord members. I actually listen to the Radio des RĂȘveurs and my own playlists every day, because the songs are personalised around the things we care about and connect with us on a personal level. My PSS song, for example, brings back all the emotions I felt during the ARG.

My process usually starts with generating several versions in different styles in Advanced Mode. Then I choose the direction I like best and keep working on it using covers/inspirations/mashups/
, as well as quite a lot of Suno’s Editor and Studio mode, until I get as close as I can to the result I have in mind. It can also mean editing together parts from several different versions, or working on individual stems separately. It often takes time. Sometimes Suno just refuses to do what I want, no matter how much I fight with it  but I genuinely enjoy the process.

For this particular song, though, Suno was actually quite cooperative. Most of the work came from mixing in Advanced Mode, then refining the result in the Editor, with a few tweaks to the stems.

Oh eh hein bon voilà non mais parce que à la fin, bon. (Désolé)

I only used (only tried really) the free version myself back when, so yeah it’s definitely not the same result. You got a nice one with the PSS song ! I made it make things I liked as well, also got good laughs out of it with friends, we would do diss tracks to each other.

And I agree, it’s really nice as a hobby tool to play with your ideas. It’s actually impressive what it can do. I learned other tools, and yeah they allow me to be more involved, more creative process and tweaking, but I make time for this. Not everybody has time to learn and do this.

The big downside for me is how when they started (maybe even now ? idk) they trained their models on material without asking for rights and such. And SOME people feed it music without owning the rights to it either. But yeah, that’s a debate and we shouldn’t do that here, sorry
Can’t help it on this subject

Anyway, it allows people like you to make ideas true and for that it’s good.

Chapeau @laChecktitude! Really captures the core of Project Skyscraper ARG very well. I am not fond of AI use, especially in creative works, but there is obviously still a lot of YOU in there. My neighbours love it too, they are banging the walls for more
 thanks for sharing!
