Concert Memory Email Investigation

Using the email last paragraph referring to music and such I looked back at the memory block about the tapes. 2,5,8,11,13,14,15,16 Were missing. Plain text is B E H K M N O P. Using the school cipher gives I F E R H C V P. Which spells Cipher with an extra F and V. May be nothing but here ya go.

That’s the code we received during Waking Titan phase 1 through the cassette audio spectrographs.

The code was hex + ROT13, resulting in “portal.”

It’s a fascinating read! And well-done finding the ROT13 pattern there!

I was thinking about the phrase 'There is a DJ in your Town" a little differently, and I was wondering if they meant the literal letters ‘D’ and ‘J’? The town of Dijon is apparently a 2 hour drive from Lyon, so maybe the email is actually talking about Dijon. It would also be perfectly reasonable distance for someone from Dijon to go to Lyon for a birthday celebration or a concert of sorts.

If that phrase is some kind of spy code, maybe it is directing Ghost to Dijon?

Nice one. Well worth consideration.

Is there where the mustard comes from? I think we should all go there for uh… research :eyes:

I’ve had a literal shower thought about that sentence, and perhaps it’s code for “Emily is alive/awake”. Granted, this is a much weaker connection. Let me explain:

There is a DJ in your Town

is: Purposely un-contracted form here, possibly to draw attention to the verb “to be” in the sense of “exists”.

DJ: We’re thinking of DJs as music producers, but a radio host can also be called a DJ. Emily was the host of ETARC, a literal radio club.

Town: The upper case draws attention because in English there is no reason for this noun to be capitalized. Perhaps it is so to draw attention to the letter T as part of an acronym, namely ETARC. Edison Township Amateur Radio Club.

The release of Emily’s introduction on soundcloud with the heartbeat also corroborates this idea of “waking up” or “becoming alive/active”. The glaring hole in this hypothesis is the lack of connection to France or Lyon in any meaningful capacity, which in turn doesn’t fully explain the e-mail to Ghost.

More likely it’s telling us that in 2013, The Architect met Ghost at a concert in Lyon, but at the time, The Architect lived in a town with DJ in it - and Dijon’s as good a guess as any.

There was a moment in late June 2018 (beginning on the 22nd where his status went “Critical”) when we had to save Alexander by calling in to a radio station DJ and have them play Alexander’s wedding songs live on air.

The reasoning @Emily /Loop16 gave us was as follows:

Music is a strong trigger for emotionally grounded memories. I’ve talked with the Myriad team, and we think that hearing this music again will help him to recover missing memories about his wife, which will increase his mind’s overall stability. To that end, I have a special task for you all!

The result was so cool! I forgot we did this. Maybe @the_architect was alluding to this same strategy as we move forward submitting memories for reconstruction.

Here is the playlist:

Do we know if there are any actual posters with that quote?

“There’s a DJ in your Town”

 I am so glad you have that @YourBasicMaths So many of us contributed to the effort. Yep, that’s me at about 18.35. @Polyphemus is on there and several others. I used Emily as the one making the request for Alexander. He was in a very dark place. Please come home safe Alexander. :smiling_face_with_tear: So many memories.

I couldn’t find a radio station doing phone in requests, so I faked it. I’m the jazz D.J.

I made up my radio call sign. I actually recorded it in my car in a parking lot because I was going somewhere.

Good times.

Amazing memories!

Maybe some of these should be submitted.

I haven’t found flyers/posters yet.

But here are the top three two results I could find (in terms of potential artists):

“There is a DJ in your Town” is a popular lyric from the song “D.A.N.C.E.” by the French electronic music duo Justice, released in 2007. (hard to find more info on this)

Thanks! I guess I was mistaken. Maybe it’s good that I couldn’t find any info on it :joy:

It should also be registered for posterity that this song is, in fact, Fire.

From the sounds of it fellas, it sounds like what we need is to send Emily some bangers.

If bangers is what we need, bangers i shall curate!
