Asking for directions, uses navigational data and scanning all of these do not appear in co op, also all locations on the map vanish when my friends join the game. It makes seaeching for new locations difficult as asking for directions is a key point in the game.

You should report it to the Hello Games Zendesk and see if they can figure it out.
