Base Building

Every time I intend to build a small quick base for easy access fishing, this happens…

Lush

Irradiated (the doom barge)

This was closest I got to keeping it simple (I still went to the bother of fighting an Electromagnetic Hotspot).

I also love this spot because it’s in the middle of the ocean and you get a nice cliff side effect with the waves. Like my very own mini Cliffs of Moher. Cliffs of Void Mo(t)her?

The base is amazing but look at that planet :heart_eyes: It’s close to the Aquarius Expedition systems too ;0;

I had been messing about a bit on that last fishing spot planet I think. Kept it uploaded for a while as well.

Sorry for some bad quality images below. I need to train myself to use F12, and these were made from a smaller window as well.

Note, this base will most likely be deleted again at some point. Just got bored during testing, giving me something more interesting to do

Co-ords in the images if anyone want a look around.

Looked I did around :eyes:

Climbed this guy

Admired the roof

Posed with some history

Had a little sit down and thought about how vast history is and has yet to be, and how short a travellers life must seem in the midst of it.

Then I stole your tiny portal

Curious, did the wonder projectors not show up on your visit? There’s half a dozen in total, one in the wee downstairs room too.

I didn’t want to spoil the Exhibits :stuck_out_tongue: But I saw them all, including the downstairs guys

Having the feeling that this place once played an important part in the daily lives of the beings who once lived here,

I decided to pay homage to the spirit of whatever deity may still lurk within.

The vaulted ceiling was most impressive and designed with obvious intent,

to make anyone who enters feel that any idea of superiority over the local life, was folly

I pressed a panel not expecting it to still work after the passage of so much time.

but in a testament to the ingenious nature of those who came before me, it sputtered and sparked to life

A voice out of the past then guided me on a tour of the history of this place.
Thinking the Travellers could tame this place, they learned the hard way that life finds a way.
They found themselves beaten down as hordes of local life reminded them they were here first

Even the advanced mechanical life they were adjusting themselves to, did not give the Travellers the upper hand.

Life, in all of its forms, must be respected.
I sat and reflected on all of this as I gazed out of the windows onto an abandoned trading post. So much knowledge lost. And all because the Travellers refused to find a way to live together with what had already existed long before they arrived.
We come to explore. Not to conquer.
That should have been their motto.

Huh, this didn’t happen for me… I wonder if it has anything to do with me climbing the skull outside? Being cursed by angry spirits was on my bucket list anyways…

You must be very quiet to hear voices from the past. The longer time goes on, the more distant and faint the voices become. Then, one sad day, you realize most people can no longer hear the voices. They are too noisy. Moving too fast and the voices have become too faint…
