Whereas this guy is one of the larger fish you find in NMS

So I think it’s safe to assume, any of the fish in the pictures that don’t look like familiar NMS fish are from LNF and very may well find themselves in the game soon with the deep water biome addition thats on its way

I was looking through the Fishing Records and I noticed on the last page, the top row 5th in from the left is the only fish silhouette that doesn’t have a repeat/variant.

Has anyone caught it yet? ;0;

I had three stacks of this for some reason, makes great bait, better than the meat stacks. I haven’t tried others yet but pulpy roots etc might be an even better fish bait source that’s handily grabbed than raw creature meat

I’ll give it a go, been slowly working through the stacks I had accumulated in my ingredient storage, a selection of milk was coming up on the chopping block, proto and 2 others, I dont have bone milk but I’m gonna try hunt it down.

Whose bones do I milk?

Who came up with Osteofelidae? Is there a cabal of NMS players choosing appropriate Latin Names for creatures? Bonecat is a pretty accurate creature ID.

at least 6 messages in bottles. It might be worth keeping track of those as well. Interesting bits of lore with some of them.

I have a few that have mentioned the Void or being lured to or warning not to drink the water. They mentioned they were Proc Gen messages but will be interesting to see how the strings are made up and stuck together as people share theirs.

Im making Sunday my Lore day, will be posting screens and transcripts from the Expedition as well as sharing what messages I’ve found in bottles.

Did anyone happen to capture a screenshot of the Milestone that had Void corruption? I’m sure it’s not overly important to the Expeditions story but would be nice to have when putting it all together. I think it’s the only thing I didnt think to archive or read properly (I thought it would stay that way)

My thoughts on fishing…it is something new to do in a game where most of us have long since done everything. It compliments the new water and adds goodies to discover and we are all hoarders in some corner of our minds.
I enjoy it. But, I still want a speedboat.
As for the Fishing Records, you mean this one?

I notice the things I caught in the Expedition are greyed out as if the game is taunting me. Yeah, you caught this in the expedition but it doesn’t really count.

Yeah it had a corrupted description but I didn’t look at it to avoid spoiling the expedition and then I did it before checking it. It’s probably just the standard glass corruption with nothing major to be seen so I’m not tooooo worried about it.

I’m glad to have some record of it, it does this too if it’s a fish you caught in a trap but have yet to catch with your fishing rod. Recieving a fish as a gift will also do this (tested it earlier between my PC/PS5 to see if it counts as catching)

That’s great! Glass Grains are super easy to make, just toss Frost(Wort) Crystals in a refiner. Ratio is 1:1. Good all around bait to make.

I’m on Phase 5 with two goals left. I think I’m going hop back to my main save and go through my cooking catalogue and start logging the bait stats for all the foods I can make.
