3xperimental

A new update is now available on Steam 3experimental:

Experimental Branch 11/12 :link:

  • The Galactic Trade Terminal in the Space Station now defaults to buying, rather than selling.
  • The ability to edit terrain in a multiplayer game is now its own permission setting, alongside the permission to edit a base.
  • Restored the ā€˜Friends Onlyā€™ multiplayer permission setting, distinct from people in your group but not in your friends list.
  • Fixed an issue where freighters bought before the Synthesis Update would be limited to 4 tech slots.
  • Fixed a hang that could occur when comparing freighters.
  • Fixed an issue where upgraded starships always rolled the worst possible stat ranges for their class. The chosen stat is now based on the unique seed for that ship.
  • The upper bounds for some starship stats has been increased on haulers, fighters and exploration starships, so that exotic ships are no longer guaranteed to the best at each specialisation.
  • Added the ability to see a starshipsā€™ stats through the Analysis Visor, including the difference between ā€˜coreā€™ and ā€˜upgradedā€™ stats.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the displayed shield strength stat of a starship to be incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue that added one shell to the Position Ejectorā€™s clip size when adding reload speed upgrades.
  • Fixed an issue with GTAO that caused many planets to appear slightly too dark.
  • Added a new ā€˜Ultraā€™ setting for GTAO on PC.
  • Plants placed in a base now get slightly bigger as they grow.
  • Interactive objects that have been used are now hidden on the compass and in the Analysis Visor.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent players from using their secondary weapon if they only have one secondary weapon installed.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to equip weapons in a number of circumstances where weapons are not allowed.
  • Made a number of fixes to Nexus missions, including: reducing message spam during pirate-hunting missions; preventing missions from marking depots that have previously been destroyed; and preventing base-building missions from selecting planets with extreme Sentinels.
  • Added a multiplayer message when collecting mission-critical objects.
  • Vortex Cubes and Submerged Relics are no longer destroyed by the Terrain Manipulator.
  • Fixed an issue with the Exocraft camera that made it difficult to aim weapons.
  • Fixed an issue that caused newly installed Exocraft weapons to be unavailable until cycling weapons.

  • Unavailable options in the build menu are now greyed out rather than removed.
  • Fixed an issue that prevent players from deleting base parts while a wire is being placed.
  • Fixed a number of animation issues with the solar panel.
  • Improved the icon for the Teleport Cable.
  • Fixed an incorrect icon in a mission from the Abyss update.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some hostile plants to have incorrect HUD labels.
  • Fixed a number of issues with warning arrows and health bars in non-HD resolutions.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players not to receive the correct rewards from Apolloā€™s contact.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the planetary hazard reading to be in degrees when on an anomalous world.
  • The amount of rust and other junk substances found in damaged planetary machine has been reduced.

  • Fixed a rare crash in the Build Menu.
  • Fixed a rare crash in the planet generation system.
  • Fixed a PC-only crashed related to getting player names for base parts.
  • Made a number of minor optimisations to the texture caching system.

I wonder if this includes the final Atlas Station in both Main and Artemis story. I found it quite interesting to be able to draw you weapon, specifically then and there.

Good on HG for continuing to improve and bugfix the game.

I would love to know what provoked that idea.

I have to say Iā€™m getting tired of changes to the mechanics that have become automatic over the very long time weā€™ve been using them.

rant/ I wish that HG would remember that there are human beings out here, some of who have little time to embark on a new learning curve every week or so. /rant

I hope they donā€™t take away the ability to shoot the thwapper plants that hang down from the ceiling in abandoned buildings.

You can always lob a grenade in from the outside. Just make sure you have upgraded the blast radius.

Considering those, I havenā€™t seen any of them in a whileā€¦ Have they gone?

Was snapped snapped during a community event just a few days ago.

I normally sell, not buy. That change is a ā€œbe careful out thereā€ one. Sigh.

If Hello Games is going to make that type of UI change, they should at least also make some sort of color or other change as a warning/reminder. (Have not checked this yet, though)

Tis the way Hello Games thinks. I have seen this happen in numerous games over the years.
The developers only INTENT is to destroy what they made!
The above may not be true but it happens.

The FUN of the game has been replaced with GRIND.

The problem is HG does not ask if we the players would like an idea
or are they talking about anything because they do not know how to speak.

That has been the fault of HG not the players.

Actually I thought beyond reduced the grind quite considerably. Maybe not compared to the original release, but thereā€™s quite a gap between not being grindy and serving everything on a silver platterā€¦

nor is there a mention of a silver plate.

From the git go the grind, possible immediate death trying to get to you ship ā€¦ period

then make your base ā€¦ grind
get your people ā€¦ grind
do the quest ā€¦ grind
do the artemis quest grind
do the atlas quest grind ( ok with this grind )
do the week end

Where is the exploration?

When the game came out and I played it , i roamed (walked) for days on a radioactive planet.
There were places to explore, find.
was fun

now, today, walking a planet is finding very little of anything, I have found 2 grave sites
a few buildings
but the hunting for whatā€™s over the next hill is gone.
ya know there is the same nothing to find and it last for hours.

Presently, I am playing the way the game was in the begining.

I am flying to different solar systems, landing on the planets.
Finding the buildings that hold blueprints.

walking around, looking at what I can.

I have not and probably will not make the base computer.

It is not needed.

I do not at the present time have the blueprint to make anti-matter
but I do have the Atlas Pass that lets me find them.

So HG and their building quest sits dormant.

4 Ever and a day!

now where is EMILY hiding ā€¦ ? ā€¦ anyone knows?

The good thing about the nexus is that you can get almost all the tech you need there tech-wise without doing any of the quests (the rest you can get from raiding factories), so the roaming playstyle still works well if you want it.

For example, I donā€™t have the vehicle guy yet, but I already have the exocraft I wantā€¦

Granted, an option to turn off the constant quest reminders would be niceā€¦

Oh, yes please! But Selectively. Perhaps an on/off button beside their title in the Log panel.

That way if you ever actually wanted to be nagged remindedā€¦ :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I think one of the reasons I finally did all the missions was to get rid of these reminders.

I tried that, but the buggers now have boring repeatable quests and the station portal keeps saying ā€œfarmerā€ next to all my bases even though I dismissed all of the base staff. lol

go ahead Hello Games, keep making your game crap

Yes I ran into you newest change.

I will watch and see what is said here.

But I donā€™t have time anymore for the changes to the game that make it crap.

Be safe!
