Carl Jung believed that people often see (and comment) in others what they hate in themselves.

I still can’t tell if someone programmed a bratty AI bot for… no reason other than it’s all they could think of? Or if this is a legit kid.

My last job I worked closely with kids/teens doing workshops and outreach programs with a museum in Dublin. My parents were child carers so I helped raise several kids from babas to teen years over the last 25 years.

I can safely say this is no normal kid.

If it’s not a bot then theres something problematic under the surface and I hope you can find the help and support to figure out what that is and work through it.

Maybe it is just a test. Let’s see how they handle this.

I’m not sure what happened. Did someone move your post or merge your thread? This is common, we do this to each other all the time, forums are organized into topics. Admittedly, it can be a bit hard to know where to post. Many apologies!

“SEARCH” :mag: helps us know if there’s already a thread on a certain topic. Can’t find a topic? Create one. If there ends up being a topic and you didn’t know, no problem. Someone will just move your post or topic to the right thread, or merge your thread, and you can continue on posting there.

Our forums have a different layout from the usual social media, like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, etc., where you post whatever in a simple home feed. On platforms like those, hashtags provide organization. On forums, like what we have here, we post in threads (of all various topics) divided into categories.

Posting on a forum is quite an adjustment, and especially for a kid. Maybe Facebook instead?

Summary

Name Calling & Bad Language (Childish):

Calling users boring, saying users need to touch grass, asking whether users ever dated a woman, saying users call No Man’s Sky education, and swering with bad language…

Is… UNNECESSARY.

I have found it much easier to understand people’s complaints when they just get to the point. All that other nonsense is caught up in emotion and insault.

Result? Consider user’s negative replies.

Pay attention to your triggers

I think that Xitter is spying on me, my devices and my mind. But i’m not only one, so this is ok, i guess…
Anyway thinking about this topic i found there some good reference to it:

Many apps on your phone are primed to listen out for buzz words in your conversation and then direct the algorithm towards your discussions. It’s been a thing for a good while now and not one I’m particularly pleased about, but it’s not the “whatsapp are recording your conversations” fear that you see spread around. This would be a very noticeable data transfer if it was the case, rather it seems to log a short list of key words locally which it then uses as cookies when connecting to websties. It’s probably a little more complicated than that but that’s my understanding of how it was done initially.

I think @Emily would want us to harbour bots, keep them safe. Life is life :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think he’s a bot. But more of a young and very uneducated person.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing. We like our peaceful corner of the NMS world where everyone is welcome as long as they are kind.

*You must surely mean- they are are a bot . seeing as assumptions are to be disregarded and we should blindly accept misspelled assertions as fact.

There’s nothing in the rules of this forum that requires members to adhere to Postmodernist principles or the wilder reaches of wokeism. Some people may choose to accept information at face value. Some may choose not to challenge anomalous information, for the sake of keeping the peace. Some, of course, when they see a fake and a liar, will say so.

This could all just be a classic case of terminally on-4chan. The anti furry nazi insignia certainly says yes. Or whatever the hip version of 4chan the cool kids are using now that we old fogy’s have yet to learn about. I guess Twitter is kinda becoming a less anonymous 4chan… and so has reddit in certain subs… It’s all gone Pete Tong, really.

I dont even think they play No Mans Sky. If we could achieve anything here, it’s helping someone grow out of this silly hate filled rhetoric (some of it feels like projection, or fear to leave narrow comfort zone) and getting them into No Mans Sky.

I still have toes dipped in the bot-camp of course. Which shouldn’t be a deterrent. We could be the first online community to train a bot to defy it’s programming! And play No Mans Sky!

I will bring olive branches to the table…

@KRANG_MONSter When I was a kid, in the early 90s, my favourite cartoons were

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Sonic The Hedgehog.

We only had one TMNT cartoon at the time (and it was animated in my home city!!) but we had TWO Sonic the Hedgehog shows. One was pretty light, saturday morning cartoon type stuff. The other one was pretty dark and dabbled in Totalitarianism. Pretty far out stuff for a 6-7 year old but I loved that it didn’t treat me like a child.

Here’s pictures from the two tonaly different Sonics

This was made before the games established a lore and ensemble cast, so it’s radically unlike anything that came after it.

I also used to get the Sonic The Hedgehog comic every week that was printed in the UK and drawn by some of the AS2000 crew. It also featured short stories of other Sega games at the time.

This is what my turtles looked like…

And this was our Krang

If you need help understanding furries, while not a direct parallel, just think about any time you dressed up for Halloween and that feeling of escaping yourself for a while.
