Voyagers Corvette Parking Collison

The parking spots for the Corvette seem to be causing some huge collision issues.

All of the areas near the edges of my freighter base are now inaccessible. And the entire section at the back. I walk up an invisible wall when trying to reach them.

Are you actually supposed to be able to get the Corvette, while being loaded into the Freighter interior (freighter base)? Regular ships are not present here either. Maybe they forgot to exclude those parking spots from loading? Not sure though, as I have not yet tried the new update.

The Corvette “parks” in the blue ringed areas that now appear on either side of your freighter. You then use the teleporter on your Corvette to warp down to the freighter.

These parking spots have pulsing blue rings and I am assuming these are an issue since it is in the areas closest to them where the blocked paths are.

I believe I warped into my freighter when this happened. My Corvette did not follow me. So it must be the parking spot themselves that are the issue.

It took me 10 minutes of hunting about, jetpacking around outside my freighter & searching everywhere, to eventually discover that round button on the back door.

 guess I should have mentioned it

I have been investigating and figured it would be fun and useful…

I need more lights…

I now changed my mind…

I give up…

I found collision issues in some of my bases too. At least I was able to figure that one out. The ‘Circle Window’, which can be placed instead of walls on a cuboid room.

In this case huge because I have it scaled a LOT!
You can see the part name while I aim at the invisible collision

It is from my Zero Hour base

I then tested regular version, again see target part

No collision on either side of the middle

Visualised with lights placed, after which I continued to my freighter as you have now seen in my previous post

So this collision is just moved and/or rotated it seems.

On the freighter I have no clue yet, but it may be parts of the freighter itself? Not part of the base, as aim tells us nothing.

Possible relation?

There is definitely something out of wack.

Placement on the corvette is weird too….hopefully they figure it out.

Im having the same issue, definitely invisible walls blocking very vital points of my freighter base.

Me too…mostly because I was intrigued by the button the first time I walked by it and poked at it…but at the time I was in a space station where it didn’t do anything.

I had two invisible walls in my freighter base as well, but not on the landing spots you showed… for me, they were in the central hallway when coming from the bridge. I could jetpack-jump over it (which shows it wasn’t taking up the whole interior space of a hallway, but only introducing a step on the floor). I wonder what that collision was and where it came from, any ideas?

Well, I went and reset the whole “maze”, I wanted to build a more open and less crowded interior anyway.

Speaking of which, how do I build an interior that’s two units tall inside the freighter, without introducing floors? I recall it required building from an outside room…? I was thinking, a four-units tall atrium in the ground floor center, surrounded by two two-units-tall interiors.

BTW, I find it cool that, in addition to playing the game, you are playing alien space bug explorer (with the IT definition of bug).

The huge collision present on Freighters, has not yet been fixed with the Steam Experimental update which just released

Edit: Same goes for the Circle Window collision issue, not yet fixed

I was hopeful for a moment.

Fixed an issue which resulted in invisible blocking physics in freighter bases.

Not fixed for me, so I guess they refer to something else
That said, I do think I may have found the top of the collision (at least part of it)

Figured it out …

Probably not helpful but the image inside the red box is not a mirror image of the image on the left - needs to be turned.

please report :joy:

Was doing a space walk to find the area and got the same shape as you.

at the rear (right) of my freighter

pretty dang tall

but I could pass between in some places run up and over and down the other side.

They did however, fix the collision I was having along the outside wall in my mess hall. I can now run up and harvest all of the carbon

My collision areas circled

It kinda covers the whole rear area like invisible hills

It’s so cool how you explore these invisible shapes and note the asymmetry in the screenshot :star_struck:

I assume you use a creative mode save for these experiments? Is the assumption that these hitboxes are there for everyone in the same places? For one type of freighter, or are they all based on one template that needs to be fixed?

Because I thought those invisible blocks were caused by my misclicks or not deleting objects before deleting the room (the freighter is old and has gone through many redecorations). Some decorations also simply disappear, I assumed they went invisible and that’s what I’m bumping in.

E.g. I also have an invisible obstacle along part of one wall in the freighter base. (When I place tables, I can only put objects on one edge of the desktop, and no posters fit on that wall.)

And once I flew out the (seen from inside the hangar) right exit and the ship went clunk clunk clunk! and the screen edges went red. That was possibly the same obstacle as from your “figured it out” post!

If it’s the same for everyone they can pinpoint and fix it for everyone (well, you even exported it to blender or so, that shows HG what we mean), right? :slightly_smiling_face:
