I think you’re confusing evolution with social change. Evolution involves physical, biological, ( and probably psychological), change. Social change involves politics, attitudes, and economy. They both contribute to adaptation, but they’re very different things.

This is what the free market has done to trousers XD It’s all about style over substance now.
I was wearing some really old jeans, a pair I’ve had since I was 14 (I’m in my mid thirties now, I’m perpetually underweight so I get good millage on thread XD). A damn good pair too, but time has washed the colour out and the knees are basically non-existent. The brand also is non-existent at this stage.
Had some cool preppy kids at a bus stop ask me where they could buy the designer jeans. No, my jeans worked hard to be like this, it earned character, it had to experience life to become this cool. Then my jeans became the grossest thing they’d ever seen XD
I must say the evolution of “stretchy” jean pants legs, or jeggings? is a nice invention. While I’m sure the amount of plastic or whatever is in there to make those jeans stretch, as you can tell I aint throwing mine in the ocean any time soon 
So are we taking the conversation more OT in to the history of the textile industry? Cos I was tasked with designing a hypothetical museum for one once so, I got my notes ready to go when you guys are XD
Now thats an old word I havent heard in a long time, like dropsy, melonhead or whooping cough XD I know some elder trans folk are okay with transexual as its what they’re used to saying, but that one, I’m pretty sure that one is offensive to all '^ _^

Eddie Izzard describes himself as a transvestite. So does Grayson Perry. It’s not the same thing as transsexual - or, at least, not necessarily. If the people who do it use the term, who are we to criticise?

30 million have made the jump. Very much like twitter.
If SM makes the jump, I will follow. What else could I do? Since reading this thread I feel I have no choice but to do what the masses do.

The whole point of Twitter was that it was a cheap, simple, reliable, means of mass communication. Unfortunately it had some problems.
Elon Musk seems to be addressing these problems by making it neither cheap, nor simple, nor reliable, and by preventing mass communication.
So that should sort it all out then…

Anyone thinking this will kill off twitter is deluded, give youself a shake. Ok, its an absolute hellsite depending on which rabbit holes you allow yourself to go down but thats its attraction for a lot of people. Threads is a corporate shill site thats already over censoring opinion and free speech. Fun times ahead lol

I suspect there could never be too many social media sites. Many already use multiple apps for different things. While some will always be more popular, there is plenty of room for others. Each person will be drawn or repelled for various reasons.

An Instagram version of twitter. I can’t quite figure it out. I do not see a way to follow a #. That is what I like about twitter. I can drown out all other posts fairly well, not as well since musk took over though.
