Its like I’m bringing tech back from the future

Not sure the water is supposed to do that, but looks wild

Reflecting the green nebula…kinda

You activated 256-colour mode and your greens got crushed. Am I suppose to be hearing the music from Monkey Island?

Feels weird being out of the Liquidator Expedition and not getting jumped by Xenomorphs at every landing zone with a waypoint. A triumphant return and the shedding of my Carapace certainly called for some heroic shots and stills on reflection.

Footage of my re-emergence from the carpace does not exist so please enjoy this re-enactment. (this is where I wanted to put a GIF of the ghostbusters breaking Dana and Luis out of the TerrorDog statues, but google failed me. Here’s Rick Moranis anyway…)

These feel like the paintings you see of boats and coastlines in a Dentist or GP’s waiting room

Still exploring the Vanguard Star Chain, has some lovely sights to show (there were two planets close to eachother I forgot to photograph, but one was orange seas/blue grass, the other was blue seas/orange grass. Made quite the pair.)

My new favourite thing to do in No Mans Sky Worlds Update, hands down, is coastal walking.

If I’m exploring now, I find a place to land where there is vast seas and large stretches of coastline and keep walking until I’ve experienced a full day night cycle and every storm in between.

I don’t know if Beach Walking in NMS is popular enough to warrant it’s own topic for screenshots but here is my first of soon to be many Coastal Walk shots.

The weird thing is that we seem to have walking buildings in shapes that we don’t have actual buildings in. I have to wonder if they’re coming with the next update…

New TV series… Buildings Gone Wild.

… Walking buildings with no obvious ties to lore seem odd and out of place to me.

Maybe from their perspective they wonder why people live in replicas of their dead relatives and therefore think we are the illogical monsters with no rhyme or reason to existing.

House have little time to ponder existence. House just settle at being foundationally awesome.

I’m hoping we get some new fluff with the next Worlds update along with whatever new sites are being brought to the surface.

A new POI in uninhabited systems like nesting grounds for the Animatronic Life Forms and their new house guests would certainly be a welcome place for something like that.

We all know of hermit crabs, which protect their soft bodies by hiding in the discarded shells of sea snails.

Terry Pratchett proposed an inhabitant of Howondaland, the hermit elephant. These soft-skinned elephants make their homes within native huts, which they enter, then walk off with the hut on their back. He describes unwary travellers approaching a settlement, only to find that all the houses take fright and run away.

I’ve read about ‘Walking Buildings’ a few times here but I’m totally in the dark as to what people are talking about…
Are there really buildings that wander about or get up an run off like some rocks do?
I feel like an old timer when it comes to NMS but I’m yet to encounter anything like this…

I’ve yet to spot them in the wild. From what I can tell from screenshots, they are normal animals that are building-shaped (plus legs). They seem to be smaller than buildings actually would be, and alas they have no interiors that could be entered.

I’ve only encountered one planet with them on it but it was an undiscovered/uninhabited system, not sure if that’s a requirement but they were on a planet with the other synthetic lifeforms

They look like the Archives buildings.

It is a requirement, they are found on the same planets as the mecha fauna. Uncharted systems only.
