I have never complained about my pre-launch buy of this game. I’m not a veteran gamer, but this one piqued my interest by its use of math formulas, wireframes, textures, and parts images to procedurally generate the game.
Even had the game proved too hard for me (a combat loather), I’d have wanted to financially support the effort.
I could continue exploring and photographing till the day I die. I’m looking forward to retiring so I can devote some “real time” to playing No Man’s Sky. And Light No Fire, whenever it releases (even though I’m not an RPG fan … more of a Hello Games fan. 
)

Owing to my current main save being one I started last year for running an expedition, and subsequently deciding to keep running with it, I was recently working through all the story missions (again). I was conversing with the Atlas, completing The Purge quest, when this came up…
It totally rocked me back on my heels for a moment. I sat there and gaped at it until I realized it must be showing me a list of systems in which I had bases or similar. When it first appeared it was… eerie.

@DevilinPixy Just so! It was definitely both. 
On reflection I am delighted that the TravelEcho System, containing bases created in her memory, featuring her poem that talks about going to the stars, with planets named to honor the primary materials of her creativity - has served as a jumping off point, a bridge, to the creation of a whole “new” universe. That seems very right to me. I do believe she would approve. And possibly has.

Think about it. If you emerged from hyperspace slowly, there would be a point where half of you existed, and the other half didn’t.
Probably quite uncomfortable.
