We just need large sentient worms and space faring corvid people and we are almost there
Wait. What? Is that new this update? I don’t need an aquarium helmet, but it’s hilarious…
What if I told you you could get one with a boot in it. Do you want one now?
I am admittedly jealous of all the cool stuff people are finding. I just started a new save, and with only a couple systems accessed I have no new planet types from the new update to share. I did find out that the Gek have discovered potty training though.
Some of the new biome types are available across all systems the new jungle type, desert type, sun soaked, frost and irradiated variants supposedly appear in all systems. Not sure their likelihood percentage across the different star types though.
Here’s how it’s explained in the patch notes
PLANETARY VARIETY
Planetary variety and diversity has been increased all across the universe.
Dense jungle worlds can now be found all across the universe.
New desolate desert worlds can now be found all across the universe.
Rare and strange ruined relic worlds can now be found all across the universe.
These new worlds have been added to both existing systems and the new purple-class star systems, but in such a way as to minimise change to existing worlds.
The diversity and variety of hazardous flora on all worlds has been increased.
Even in purple systems I’ve yet to find a single one but on the lookout for a jungle titan
My home base lost the shiny crystals that were in the water. Now I just have dull mineral deposits of some sort.
Found my first dessert planet, it also had nice groupings of trees everywhere and oceans, so more of an oasis planet than a dessert planet
Guess I have to get as many as possible, so I can compare them.
Planet Bluetiful is no more. No more blue, I mean. It now has the same color as this forum background. And another base deleted.
Every time I name a planet, I’m torn. Why bother naming it after a non-permanent feature? Okay, future travellers can make up stories trying to explain the no-longer-applicable names, I guess, sigh.
Good thing they added a renaming feature. Now it’s Planet Forumbackgroundtiful
Found a Heimal Giant with a single Paradise Moon. They mentioned that giants could have an effect on the gravity’s of their moons.
This paradise moon had permanent gravity swells that never went away and worsened during storms
Wooosh
Since we can now collect additional starships without resorting to dirty tricks, I decided to venture out in search of a new inteceptor last night. I was absolutely delighted to find this, the family car of sentinel ships on my first attempt:
Funnily enough, if you look closely, you’ll notice that the back compartment closes in-flight and opens a little while parked.
It is now my main.
Interesting. Until the update, this was my main ship. I had pimped it to the max:
Unfortunately, I found that after the update, it wouldn’t hover any more - and for me, that’s a deal breaker. So I went searching for a new main ship - one I knew would hover. This is the one I found:
Pimping is under way - Class S, max slots, all upgrades. And yes, it hovers.
Think the VGA ships lack of hover has a patch inbound.
Loving the new interceptors you two <3
Having all this free ship space means I can stop feeling anxious about keeping 8 ships I no longer flew but kept for tied memories and nostalgia.
I might finally get around to building a custom ship now too. I’d been hoarding parts then never followed through on the plans.
