It’s a pretty interesting mix, I agree. The architecture does have the shilouetting of art-deco (I mean, you could turn that screenshot black-and-white and put it somehwere into Metropolis without it feeling much out of place), while relying a lot on 50ies to 60ies schlock scifi for the details (ominous bubbling tubes and the likes), while going full 80ies and later when it comes to coloring and lighting (The “ambient” design feels like a lovechild between Tron and forbidden planet, if they would have used the lighting effects we are used to nowadays).
Next update we get Blacklight for the torch! Maybe bell-bottom suit leggings too?
You heard it here first!
Great dark / light contrast to the silhouettes. Nice shots.
NMS Low Riders
Beauty is Crystal clear
Arrgh! Wave upon aggravating wave of asteroids are neither necessarily nor game-enhancing.
No Man’s Sky Synthesis v2.2
Our journey continues with yet another sci-fi…
Just think, with 2.0 we could finally sit. With 2.2, we can now safely change our cloths. And I can now happily designate a multi-tool to grenade launcher… Not to mention VR, cooking, mounts and that the full patch notes for the Synthesis Update run to 297 items.
Missing from patch notes…
Granted power to ‘MELT STARSHIPS!’
(may we use the force with great care)
Shiney.
The Quicksilver quest required a lot higher count but allowed me to complete it all at one base.
Whump! Ding! Whap! BaDaBonk! Asteroids making percussive hull music.
Excellent light and shadow in NMS.
and the best way to harvest faecium. Stand downhill and let it roll to you.
The torch lights up just what you want quite nicely. Nice shot.
Where’s the ‘X’?
For some reason I’m being put back on the Atlas Path. So decided to follow it. Jumped through around 30 systems and just seemed to be sent to undiscovered systems starting around 79LY out and then slowly moving outward until I was around 85LY out. Decided to cut it short and find the center on my own. Did not find the ‘X’ (X is always used to mark the significant spot on a map).
That last photo reminds me – I’d really like it if spherical bodies didn’t appear warped as ovoid, especially in Photo Mode. Though I understand that the “maths” might be a bit much to achieve constant circle shapes for spheres.
