GameStop sent this out today. Lowes sent a similar one.
Dear GameStop Customers,

The customer is at the core of everything we do, and in light of the World Health Organization declaring the coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic, our top priority is keeping our customers, associates and communities safe as we continue to closely monitor the situation.
We have assembled an internal COVID-19 taskforce dedicated solely to this issue and have instructed our associates to follow the procedures and guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help stem the spread of COVID-19.
In response, GameStop is taking the following steps:

  • We are providing all our stores with the necessary supply of disinfectant materials and hand sanitizer to frequently clean high-touch surfaces to kill germs and ensure our stores are a safe environment for both our customers and store associates.
  • All associates have been instructed to stay home if they are sick and are experiencing any flu-like symptoms related to COVID-19, no matter how mild, and until they have been cleared by a medical professional to return to work.
  • We want to remind all customers to consult the CDC for COVID-19 symptom information and request that you follow recommended self-quarantine guidelines if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, no matter how mild. You can visit GameStop.com or the GameStop mobile app to make your video game purchases from the comfort of your home.
As we all adjust to the new precautionary measures that everyone is taking to help prevent the spread of this virus, we want to reassure you that your safety and well-being continues to be our top priority.

I am glad I planned ahead and a bought T.P. for 2 weeks (along with cold medicine, bottled water, non-perishable food, kleenex, handsoap and shampoo). My thought was that I may need to work from home for a couple of weeks while everything was shut down.

Several of the idiots described in the note probably thought to cash in with price gouging.

Yeah. Look for TP on ebay soon, lol.
I have read in financial articles that TP companies have warehouse stockpiles. There is no real shortage.

Great. Our two colleges are locked down. 4 students were interning at AR Children’s Hospital. 1 doctor there has Covid 19. He got it from being with the guy in Pine Bluff who caught it at Mardi Gras in Louisiana…

A mere two weeks is not enough. As the virus spreads in an area, the number of infected profile keeps going for likely 6 weeks or more. Stock up and stay at home as much as possible.

More crazies, people are flooding the roadways with campers and all fleeing the cities and towns. So I guess I will stay put and once everyone is gone, wipe the town down with sanitizers and BOOM problem solved! Just don’t let them back in and the rest of us will be okay

Yes. They are testing on animals so if that bothers you, skip this article. Sadly, it is the best option. As far as I am concerned, this is the really scary part.

Social distancing, it appears is critical, even when imposing self-quarantine. There are some things for which people will “venture out.”

Why outbreaks like coronavirus spread exponentially, and how to ‘flatten the curve’. This Washington Post article has several excellent simulations - animated graphics.

Be safe out there.

Our church group just shut down all gatherings until further notice. Everyone was crying and none of us could hug each other. :sob:

My contemporary worship service is online for at least two weeks. 3 people produced it, staying 6 feet apart. Music, prayer, & sermon. My decision to start attending again will depend on actual case stats for the area. I suspect that 2 weeks is not enough.

Uhm… huh? The only way to acquire herd immunity without vaccination is to cull the susceptible from the herd. Which is, I think, what we’re trying to prevent.
Oh, politicians…

Yeah. I can’t imagine telling a nation to prepare to lose many more loves ones before their time…I have heard of the British stiff upper lip but that really goes too far.
Of course, social distancing is merely “flattening the curve” so we are not all sick in a huge bunch and overwhelm the health system. It will make this take longer but, it is better than mass die-off. :mask:
