Real Time Pandemic Tracker

The US is leaning towards a worst case due to preventive actions too little too late.

Too much politics interfering with taking needed actions fast.

These predictions are extrapolated from worldwide data and observed trends. The final death toll could be worse if US fails to take “extreme” measures fast.

Even with moderate actions, the infections in my state are not expected to peak until July 1st!

That was the scenario I was really afraid of happening. I’m hopeful when I hear about people banding together, cooperating and giving to help combat this pandemic, but I’ve been concerned that looting and other chaos could break out eventually like what happened during hurricane Katrina.

The virus is a big threat, but how it could change or damage our society is even bigger.

Hitting close to home…

The 2nd officially confirmed death in my country was in the town where my mum lives, 2.5hrs drive from where I am, not that it matters, no travel allowed during our national lockdown.

Unfortunately, they break down and fall apart, two weeks after you finish paying for them.

And the ones made on a Friday afternoon are liable to rip your nose off, and pump your lungs full of coffee.

So how has this affected your daily routine?
For us, it has caused a rearranging in my house. My dining room table is now a conference room. My son’s room is a control room for a number of the conferences.
My bedroom is now my gaming room, why? Not sure…maybe I just don’t feel like leaving my room? :upside_down_face:
The front porch has become a vacation destination. My dogs and cats are like a visit to the zoo, along with the songbirds and other wildlife that come into viewing distance.
It feels like all of my family and friends are on the other side of the world and I am on an island in the middle of the ocean.
Otherwise, it’s not too bad.

1 week of official lockdown complete, and total of 2wks of working from home. Glad my company reacted so quickly and im fortunate enough to work in software dev and have fibre to home in our neighborhood.

My home office is the dining table, as my wife is already working in our study/office full time for the last year.

We live in an apartment complex and posted the sign on our front door.

@sheralmyst its lovely that you have nature so close, i love the outdoors and with autumn season its some of the best weather to hike in our main mountain range 2.5hrs drive from me, reallly missing it.

Also cant travel far for shopping so certain products and preferred brands are missing from the closest shops, and there is some restocking issues/out of stock products.

Best wishes everyone, glad to have NMS as a virtual escape at least.

Beside the quarantine, I would say the biggest difference is using my garage like an airlock with a disinfecting station.

Wearing a mask as a prevention method is, supposedly, not very effective. Unfortunately, too, some experts think that people wearing a mask will be less likely to shelter in place and more likely to exhibit riskier behavior.

The end result may be increased spreading of the virus. (Sigh)

Responding to insane internet theories, the crazies here have started setting fire to 5G phone masts.

Because, you know, high frequency radio signals obviously spread the virus, don’t they?

Perhaps they’re lighting the fires with all those toilet rolls they bought.
