The mission in which we meet -Null- is called “Ghosts in the Machine” ![]()
Also, Artemis is a ghost in the machine. We used the mind arc to place them in the thing at the back of the Anomaly. We can still interact with it but nothing happens. The story line was left with the idea that we would still be able to communicate with Artemis inside the mini computer made world we placed him in. That was created by Nada…I hope I got all of that right
yeah pretty sure that covers it
so is null the secret villan or the void mother/glass heart?
EDIT: both maybe?
null was a traveller. He used some unscrupulous methods to stay around a long time and try to see all the universe had to offer. Not void mother
Well they both hate the Atlas so there’s some common ground there.
Yes. Null was rejected by the Atlas which then refused to communicate with them so we left them very bitter at the end of the story arc
oh yeah guys when you hit ctrl+U on the project skyscraper website you can see the webs source code and i think there were some interesting stuff to look at
has been combed over and over
okey dokes
@the_architect It seems your system has leaked some PII. This is typically a critical security risk, but seems intentional.
Do you need help?
It’s 7pm CET (inc daylight savings). 7pm UTC is in an hour & a half (I posted this about 18:30 BST).
No shade here @the_architect 's had me staying up for ungodly hours too recently ![]()
This has reminded me of something @toddumptious posted to the Narrative Thread:
Void Mother also “declares her escape in the form of null”
Also FYI:
User 279180096: "name": "System", "slug": "system26da6be6a6"
edit: I should explain: the system is the author of this page.
For information, I sent the architect an email and got a reply, in French, asking who I was and how I got their email address.
[Edit: I did respond advising them where I found the address and asking if there was anything I could help with. As did other members on NMSCord.]
2nd mail ! From the Architect to Ghost
Translated : “We have a problem.”
I think my French classes have finally paid off
Major Spoilers from post artemis quest line regarding null, from the null logs found in boundary breaks after completing the telamon logs.
@DetectiveGamerTreg @bugaboocreek
Behind a thingy cos this is long.
Null is the first traveller. They’ve been devouring the souls of other travellers to prolong their lifespan. This is how they know how to construct the mind arc.
They have been trapped inside of an Atlas station for millenia by the point our traveller, the last traveller, is awoken. This stirs them from their stupor, and they enact a plan. They have listening posts and stations in every system in every galaxy. The entire time we are talking to them, they are still trapped inside there. The atlas did this to them on purpose. The entire time we talk to them, they are only telling us what we need to hear. They almost give the jig up somewhat, but not entirely, if we are on our way to reset the Universe. They allude to having done terrible things but never quite what exactly.
Some of the dead travellers also hint at what Null has been up to for the last few million years or so, some of them were even his victims.
They know of the prophecy, the foretelling of the disruptor, and that the Anomalous Travellers (not the traveller race, but us, a variant of the traveller carrying a piece of the Atlas’s creators mind, soul and genetic make up, of which Null is the first) when made whole, will be there to comfort the Atlas in, what we know as, it’s final vision. Wether thats to save them, or not, is not yet known.
Null, being made of many anomalous travellers souls, is pretty much content complete. We’re more or less the last iterations (we are all the same iteration, spread across countless simulations running concurrently) plus the NPCs on board the Anomaly. He just needs to get our souls to be The Creator made whole again.
The void mother is an AI like the atlas. Atlas chose to let her be destroyed across countless versions of the same simulation concurrently, the distant past in our current simulation, to test something. (Remember, everything takes place within the atlas so, everything in essense is by its own design, even its detractors) Can a construct in a simulation, defy death and deletion, and return, but also, can it go up a layer in the simulation chain? Atlas is running a simulation, the one we are in, to see if it too, can survive its faith.
Void Mother declares her escape in the form of null, and she promises to bring us all with her, this has been said by a few characters now, she is going to help us live BEYOND the 16th minute… See where this is going? If the Void can escape the simulation and manifest itself in front of the Atlas in its reality, on its plane, then the Atlas too itself, is in a simulation, and can defy it’s own death. The Atlas is not just screaming for help, its simulating the possibility of its own escape.
The Swarm, have added a brand new and fascinating element to all of the above, I have stuff posted about that in the expedition thread which I won’t ruin here but it’s such an exciting turn I didn’t think about, I can’t wait to see where it goes!
@YourBasicMaths The page updated at 6pm my time, I’m gmt+0 and currently in daylight savings time, Ireland based. France is an hour ahead of us and it’s in french
So GMT+1
thank you master lore keeper @toddumptious
