Giving this a read now after everything is a bit spooky. Our game was rumored to get more difficult as you got closer to the core. This turned out to be not so much. Yet this phase seems to hold true.
Seed codes troubles me as well. I have seen the seed description with my own eyes, yet none of us know anything else about them. Add in that our Galaxy is seed based in it’s generation (procgen is apparently a confusing word) and I can only wonder what the future may hold.
This is something I have thought for a long time. The initial universe is a loop essentially, it even refers to it in the game. I feel as though we haven’t figure out how to get out of the loop yet, and we aren’t getting closer to the “center” where it is difficult.
Also has anyone been able to get one of those orbs to a portal? Once I find a portal (I’ve only just started playing again) I will try and find/relocate an orb to the portal.
I was looking through old media from hello games (I figure it could of been something we missed from the start. And I came across Imgur: The magic of the Internet and asked myself, have we dug underneath the portals to see whats there?.. next step when I find one is to give this a go also.
It appears to be impossible to dig under the portals. You can not dig in a radius around the portal and this goes all the way down to ‘bedrock’.
Come to think of it, @MacForADay shared an interesting video above, in where he visits a portal, and towards the end of the video he actually talks about and blasts around it’s base. He easily removes the grass, but the ground seems to remain.
Stuck in a Loop
Could this be what’s meant by “LOOP16 UNEXPECTED ERROR”?
I mean, there’s presently no explanation for that specific word choice.
Of course, this was actually just part of a Waking Titan ARG clue, I mean in that it was followed by the password “97C-303N-5884-P”, which opened a glyph on wakingtitan.com. The message was discovered in this comm station (as can be seen below). But why these exact words? lol
“LOOP16 UNEXPECTED ERROR: 97C-303N-5884-P”
“16” might refer to the Cassette Tapes ARG (16 cassettes, I mean), which is presently underway, and these words may prove completely unimportant. But nothing says one way or another.
Ok bare with me… I was looking at that image and though “instance16status” is a very specific name… so then I searched the meaning of instance (nothing unusual there) which lead me to look up the origin.

There is a lot pointing to Greek mythology. But I can’t find anything else so probably just a dead end.
Yep, I definitely see a 16 in there.
Not sure if it’s related, but it’s good to point out all findings, just in case somebody knows beyond what we do.
However… “In Greek mythology, Atlas was a Titan condemned to hold up the sky for eternity.”
But I don’t know if that’s related either.
That’s what I love about this ARG. It gets us researching all sorts of stuff, and thus learning quite a bit along the way. 
16 is an important number in numerology as well. Since I don’t like to re-invent the wheel I will quote from a page about numerology at Number 16 - The Meaning of Number 16 and Fun Facts (not the whole page, just the interesting bits. I looked so you don’t have too

It could for example be a change of faith, moving to a completely new location or another big change in life. (note from me… fitting for NMS in it’s current state don’t you think)
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. (1861-1865). He was president during the Civil War (1861-1865). Lincoln was against slavery. (I wouldn’t be surprised if Lincoln will come into play somehow if 16 is key in this)
Wow even tower card. Tower-monolith changing etc… pretty cool.
It should also be noted that the 3rd, 4th and 5th Galaxy you visit in NMS are named
3 Calypso
4 Hesperius Dimension
5 Hyades
All of which are names and terms that refer to daughters of Atlas in Greek Mythology
It might be relevant knowledge down the line.
I decided to see what the 16th galaxy most players encounter in NMS is named
15 Ogtialabi
16 Muhacksonto
17 Hitonskyer
there doesnt seem to be much evidence around the 16th “loop” as it were, from what I can tell only the first 5 galaxy names were chosen by the devs and the rest are generated the same way the planet names are etc.
There is one thing to keep in mind though. I don’t think many ppl went there at all. Probably most are datamined, or collected by 1 or 2 persons going bonkers on warp cells.
So I’m not sure how “recent” the knowledge about the 16th universe is.
Then again, I have no reason to believe it changed recently either.
Modules are sigma tau theta as well. We’ve run into Greek mythology frequently during our research. Almost every facet of NMS has a reference, I’ve been tracing them for months. No holds are barred: sci-fi, history, science, fantasy, you name it. I’m blown away from the amount of knowledge invested in the creation of NMS.
Muhacksonto… mu hacks onto… mu is the 12th letter of the Greek alphabet. What does it hack onto? Lol
It’s the IlliMUnati which as you’ll notice, also almost has 12 letters
what if somehow we had to work together to open links between galaxies using portals thus aiding people to get to the final Galaxy and potentially escaping the loop
People have used exploits to get to the 156th galaxy and then the galaxies are just copies of galaxy 156 with different names. The loop doesn’t end and cannot be escaped by going to galaxy centers.
Edit: it was 256 galaxies, my mistake.
This assumes the game cannot detect hacks/cheats. I highly doubt that is the case here.
The 256th Galaxy
Meaning one gets stuck in a cycle of never ending 256.
