I think it’s just been crazy/wild fun considering all these potentials.

Upon digging into “Mercury” “process &/or subroutine”, here’s what I find…
Further, the basic structure of websites in HTML5, require coding in CSS3 for general styling.
Above is almost an example of a CSS3 subroutine.

Mercury Alpha-2621 …Why an early build!?
Note that “Mercury” appears with a capital first letter, denoting a title.
Note that “subroutine” and “process” appear lowercase, denoting a description.
(although can appear in title form, just as well)
Note that “subroutine” appears further referenced as “process”.
Mercury subroutine = Mercury process. No?
So perhaps “subroutine” was just an early step in the “process”.
And if “subroutine” resurfaces, it may just carry a similar meaning.
Also… Mercury, WT, NMS and S.M. (Sean Murray) / Hello Games appear referenced separate from each other. (ponder above.) This means that neither are ‘codename’ of each other; they’re listed separate. (example…)

The site changed to indicate a “calibration process” is occurring.
Emails with datasets were sent out, leading to a new website called “Bootsector”, and a corrupted picture of a notebook. It read…
Also, entries were referred to as “seeds”.

Remember those “10” Atlas Seeds found in the game files? True, they weren’t then 16.
But this is also a term used in ProcGen. Hmm… What else can this refer to? Any ideas?
Does this allude to anything? …Perhaps, No Man’s Sky!? …not sure.

This was her last vlog (glitchier than prior), before her mysterious disappearance. Said “it may be final”. She has not been seen or heard from since. She referred to superluminal “communication from the future”!

Elizabeth Leighton, CEO of the Atlas Foundation, refused information regarding her whereabouts (Live on Twitch; video now removed, so go here: #1, #2, #3, “#4”). Highly suspicious! …What are we to think!?
And yet Elizabeth encourages joining CSD (Citizen Science Division), and says, “We are on the brink of creating something truly amazing. Something that will change our understanding of reality itself. Don’t you want to be a part of that?” 
Crazy questions…
Is the Atlas Foundation communicating with us from the past? …present? or future?
Are we “on the brink of creating” NMS? for the very 1st time? …as if an entire re-creation?
Are we working in July 2016 (past)? What kinda “update 1.3” are we in for? …hmm, not sure.
{Let’s control ourselves here, lol} Are we weaving in and out of past/present/future?
I also recall that when the Superlumina website 1st went live, the copyright information changed from “© Superlumina 2017” to “© Superlumina 2018”. Why? …There’s been other strange things, too.
What greater “amazement” could “change our understanding of reality itself”…
…than No Man’s Sky? …already has?
Is this how the Atlas Foundation and ourselves the Citizen Science Division become backstory?

On 07/21/17, the WT website updated. It changed to display a console.
Typing START ATLAS.INIT results in the following message:

I then recall…

So what is hibernating exactly?

We then type “wake loop16”.
We then type “hello loop16”.
And it went on like this, with ciphers and inputs.
Two even resulted…
Why emphasize those specific words?
Do any of these words have meaning? …Yes!
On 7/25/17, concept art was released of the 4th race coming to No Man’s Sky!
So why allude to “Atlas” as an “insane God”!? 
And why emphasize the sentinels as “not what they seem”? (see below)
Any similarities with @OldGods here? …Nyarlathotep? Great Old Ones?

Since “Major Sophia Dubois is on assignment with the Atlas Foundation”, I assume she’s leading the Citizen Science Division, and such accounts for the title “Major”…

IN CONCLUSION…

Mercury appears to contain various programs. 1st start ATLAS.INIT, then CSD.INIT, then input “loop16”… Leads me to think “loop16” is located within ATLAS.INIT… Perhaps the Atlas Foundation’s computer server (the raw file), containing the simulation of NMS… Which still makes me think “loop16” is NMS.
And so perhaps CSD.INIT (Citizen Science Division; our raw file) was placed inside their server ATLAS.INIT to allow all of us to interact with comprehending the “UNEXPECTED ERROR” located within “LOOP16” / NMS.
What else could exist in ATLAS.INIT (requiring CSD.INIT) outside NMS?
Our 1st hint toward this was the comm station located within No Man’ Sky, which read…
LOOP16 UNEXPECTED ERROR: 97C-303N-5884-P …and this code was a password for WT.
I think that we were prior, just working our way into their server. That’s what this was leading to.
Speculation…
The Atlas Foundation’s computer server contains No Man’s Sky. NMS (aka. “loop16”) has an “unexpected error”, and we as the Citizen Science Division, are working toward such. Perhaps the server’s gone rogue!? …The raw file ATLAS.INIT !?
And/Or… Perhaps we’re working in July 2016, toward a better August release?

“Mercury = NMS”, but instead “loop16 = NMS”.
