Did it put you on an aggressive sentinel planet? Mine did. And it seems to be planets with salvageable scrap.
Put video and patch notes in the top post.
Those patch notes are making me laugh. I can’t wait to fling a sentinel
The expedition will be on one planet…
No starship either. Like that companion expedition. One of my faves.
Might be the first expedition where we have an excuse to group up as citizen scienti- er, citizen waste collectors.
Soooo… does the gravity gun work on other players? I’m sure somebody has tried by now?
I have not seen anyone being flung but they may all have PvP off…
Such a waste … collection. ![]()
If it does, thats just our new Hug Gun ![]()
You can grab the spheres with it, basketball etc will be much more viable now. Looking forward to seeing what games, sports and escape rooms people design around this mechanic. No more shooting/melee-ing and hoping.
Some folks scienced what can and cant be done with the Gravitino Coil.
We may never find or visit Balaron, but new exosuit is lore themed and bringing Balaron to us!
inspired by the traditional designs of Balaron textile merchants
The new titles unlock the customisation modules, for all saves ![]()
I noticed there was a way to save a colossas loadout and name it.
But there’s also a new function for saving your exosuit appearance, we can now have up to six and name them too.
@Jupiter.blues Your nephew was correct about “save” vests ![]()
Edit;
I missed the biggest news of this update.
Corvettes are now available for players on tje Switch 1.
Congratulations and enjoy the fun and wonder of building corvettes ![]()
I just threw a sentinel barrel at the sentinal drone that was trying to heal them before I destroyed them.
So satisfying ![]()
edit:
- Fixed an issue that could cause planetary creatures to sometimes ping off into the air after being shot.
Sometimes? SOMETIMES? It was ALL the time. If you did it in a cave they would bounce around too, infinitely… it was quite funny.
I’m kinda going to miss it </3
Have everyone’s colossuses (colossi?) shrunk back to their original smaller size? Mine has… it’s really weird seeing it too small to physically fit into again. ![]()
Yes. They are small again. Once you get it changed up though, it’s not really noticeable. But maybe that’s just because I play as a short character
I was thinking it looked a lot smaller, at first I thought maybe the camera position was pulled back a little.
Should change its name to Smallossus.
I just unlocked the weathered look for my dumptruck. I was on a volcanic planet. Not sure if that is what did it.
I think it is the satisfying explosions that have me hooked.
I got it during the Expedition, I had done some garbage dumping before starting in my PD save, so it’s some collective task tied to a title I reckon. (They unlock for all saves too
)
Must go to the Anomaly and have a look at what the new ones are. There seems to be a bunch more threads and chassis to collect.
Edit:
@sheralmyst It seems this was tied to the Ploughman title, which you get for using the Excavation Blade a certain amount, as far as I can tell. It’s the only title I’ve unlocked so far.
The other titles are related to manually disposing of the different types of waste, 2 for each; recycling a little and then a lot, for each waste type. It doesn’t give specific numbers though and no tracking of how much you’ve done so far from what I can tell.
With all the trailers and pretty patch notes, I missed this news post by Sean going into a little bit more personal detail on the update.
Hello,
In 2025, No Man’s Sky Travellers were treated to one of our biggest years yet. Even we struggle to know how we pulled off so many large updates last year - Worlds Part II and Voyagers were both transformational and released in the same year, interspersed with smaller but significant updates in Relics, Beacon and Breach.
Today we’re pleased to announce that our first update of 2026, our 10th anniversary year, is already rolling out. It’s called Remnant and it introduces something that we and the community have been aching to introduce to No Man’s Sky since the beginning… a fully operational gravity gun! Full patch notes are available here.
The Gravitino Coil is a powerful new anti-gravity module for your multi-tool. It turns No Man’s Sky into a physics playground. Allowing you to grab large objects and fling, toss or carefully carry them around the world.
Salvage and debris that could always be found on planets can now be collected and recycled for rare and highly prized resources. New trucks, tipping flatbeds and haulers can be constructed, to transport resources back to industrial yards for reclamation. You can work alone or join a salvage crew with friends. It creates this really fun and tactile new loop of searching for wrecks, loading trucks full of cargo and hauling across the alien landscape to industrial yards to gain new loot and rewards.
Sorting and depositing materials in these all-new Waste Processing Plants will reap great rewards. Some of the scrap is highly volatile though and must be transported extremely carefully. It’s hard to resist over-stacking your truck, finding one more piece you think you can cram in, and then trying desperately to transport this house of cards on the back of your flatbed!
Our gravity gun is an industrial tool, but it can also be used as a ballistic weapon, grabbing sentinels or fling heavy objects, turning them into projectiles.
Vehicles can be hugely customised, to create bespoke trucks and haulers for your needs. Build your own brightly coloured incinerators, spider legged sci-fi explorers or heavily armed military vehicles with tank tracks.
The Remnant Update comes with a limited-time community expedition. It brings Travellers together in convoys to clean up and reclaim a planet covered in wrecks and salvage. Perhaps you’ll be a hauler, or the gravity gun wielding ground crew or maybe a scrap yard operator.
There are beautiful rewards, including dozens of new vehicle parts, and an all-new beautifully crafted armour set, with plush, padded fabrics and ornate steam punk detailing.
2026 represents 10 years since we launched and I couldn’t be prouder. For any game to reach such a milestone is a privilege. It wouldn’t be possible without your continued support and we genuinely appreciate it.
Full patch notes for REMNANT can be found here.
Our journey continues.
Sean
P.S. Please consider wishlisting our next game, Light No Fire, here.
The ‘blog’ post was not right away linked in the News section, even though it already existed shortly after initial update release.
So the gravity gun was their own personal dream and they needed a reason to intro it to us. Trash flinging. The sentinel flinging was fun too but I found I had to get really close to grab them.
Has anyone unlocked the portable incinerater?
