Could be he will melt it all down and just have a gold foil treatment applied to the current ships and declare them new

T just wants to be able to say, ā€œMine’s bigger than yours" (ship of course).

Actually, that’s done by specialized ships like this one:

That one is an LHD class, HD standing for ā€˜helicopter dock.’ They can land about 2000 fully equipped marines. There’s a variety of ship classes that start with ā€˜L’ for ā€˜landing’ that are built for amphibious assault. Battleships, back in the day, supported amphibious ops by protecting the landing classes and by pummeling shore defenses with BFGs, but smaller, more nimble missile cruisers are better for that now, and of course aircraft carriers that can place air support anywhere are even better.

Yes. Being around the 101st ages ago, the troops mostly flew while equipment floated. Anywhere in the world in 18 hours.

Makes me wonder what my Gek plushie is floating over on. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m also wondering how long before Ts fancy new ships start to rust

They’ll never get built. In fact, they are not likely to even reach a drawing board before he is gone and that bad idea with him.

True. Thank goodness

I found a picture of a musician playing the Trumbalese

Are you sure? I had it on good authority from that oddball times article that a Trombalese came with a dildo.

You’re right, of course. However, the Trombalese went through several different versions during its development - and whilst they all do the same thing, their outward appearance can be quite different.

Here’s a chap playing a Mark 2(a) Trombalese - if you didn’t know, you’d think it wasn’t the same instrument.

It pretty much says what you are about when you get upset by ā€œregulation of disinformation.ā€

I knew they were anti mask during lockdown but i didnt think they were also fed up wearing their mask of decency. They shed that one just as quick, saying the quiet part out loud is their version of the ā€œnew normalā€ :see_no_evil_monkey:

At least nobody can say we misunderstand what they mean anymore. Theres no denying their intent now. Trump would be happy to have america be more like north korea, cut off from the world as they make threats of entrenchment to their nearest neighbours on all sides. He’s very close to achieveing his goals.

The infestation of church and state :grimacing:

Religion has no place in the conversation but it seems Oklahoma has bent the knee in this instance or just perching itself on a fence but letting the evangelicals suck their dangling toes.

At this rate my next news story post will probably be ā€œsanta confirmed real, shot dead at borderā€.

From what little I can glean of the facts behind this, I think I would have failed her too. Not because she was controversial, or offensive, but because she didn’t answer the question. She wasn’t asked to give her personal, religious, views.

Whilst you might get away with this in a school essay from a 14 year old, at university level you’re expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the issues. She was asked about societal attitudes to a complex question, and she chose to write about her personal feelings regarding only a narrow part of the subject. She either didn’t understand the question, or she was deliberately grandstanding - either way, she didn’t answer the question. Fail.

Oklahoma is ground zero for religion in the schools. I would say she chose not to answer the question and instead, put her religious views forward.

I’m not surprised they barred the instructor because the school boards across many of the Oklahoma schools are very religiously slanted. Oklahoma was the first state to say teachers are required to have a Bible in the classroom and they must teach from it, though I believe a court stopped that from actually happening. But the sentiment is still there.

This kind of thing is so asinine. You cannot force all people to believe the same thing.

Oklahoma didn’t bend the knee, they are the thug with the club hitting those who don’t comply in the back of their knees. Have been for a long time.

I disagree. Take a look at the assignment:

It’s a completely rubbish assignment that has no place in a psychology class. In effect, students were tasked to write an op-ed, and then were apparently graded by their opinion. That’s just not a thing you can do.

The assignment, as provided by your link, is to respond to an article that is not available through your link. However, I have seen that article and at the time it was pretty clear that her ā€œresponseā€ was ā€œas a christian I am outraged, outraged I say.ā€ No critical thoughts expressed, not even a cursory acknowledgement of the terms of the assignment, just typical Oklahoma Christian Nationalist call for vengeance to be rained upon all involved but them.
