MINI ARG Discussion and Speculation

I fully agree. But if you’re going to do that, you need to be a bit more directive. Just saying “look elsewhere” isn’t a lot of help, when you have the whole world, and the whole of the internet, to look in.

That was my point - what’s the use of a clue that doesn’t lead anywhere?

I suppose the one thing it tells us is that there is something going on, and that Greg Buchannan is involved. I don’t believe it’s a full-blown ARG. They cost a fortune, and require a very specialised skill-set. It’s something you only do if you have a particular mountain to climb - which, at the moment, Hello Games don’t.

Just to be sure, I checked the image from the 1st NMS related post by Greg Buchanan for anything possibly hiding. Nothing to be found for some of the most commonly used steganography tools.

I am not seeing anything special about the so called Z̶͈͇̦͐̎À̵̟̉͝Ļ̶̧̱̔̈́̎G̷̩̭͎̏͝Ỏ̸̘͓ text used.

The Origin Of Zalgo

Zalgo is the creation of a Flash animator known as Dave Kelly. The word “Zalgo” was often mentioned in Archies or Garfield comic strips from the newspaper that used to denote something scary or full of terror. It is also used to address a being who is often called as “he who waits behind the wall”. The main purpose behind bringing the word “Zalgo” was to represent the dark and demonic things with it.

No clue why a new zalgo text was used in a next post to be repeated in a third, likely just to gain more traction. The latter was an identical copy, which means it was most likely a copy/paste, as zalgo text generators will usually have different results when used again for the exact same text.

“Times are serious and the coming year will in all likelihood bring war. Should I perish in it you are relieved of me. Should I return laden with failure, then I shall disappear in the nothingness of solitude, if I can bear this strike at all. Should I, however, what I shyly dare to hope—return crowned by success—then, Gina, I shall break all bonds, in order to conquer “You” the greatest happiness of my life, you as my dear wife. But what if things turn out different and everything drags on in lazy peace, Gina, what then? In your hands, I lay my fate, solely in your hands…”
Quote from this guy, who wrote thousands of letters, some of them over 60 pages towards someone named Gina. His Quest for Love driving him mad, causing War and chaos in wake of his attempts towards winning Love .

After surviving a rabbit hole pretty deep, I have come to believe we are nearing a massive war, and that it will start with a birth, or a feud between The Atlas and Void Mother. I am exhausted and do not want to post a million reasons to why i think this but here is where I’m at now in my idiotic war of “researching”

The Atlas and Void Mother may be attempting to find each other again, after having their minds erased after upload. Maybe they were a couple before the upload, and somehow the two of them have forgotten who they once were, being reborn within the simulation. I believe Love transcends everything, and because Love is one of the most powerful of all feelings, it is the driving force of all existence. We are preparing for War, as we ripple in the wake of The Atlas and Void Mother meeting again, for the first time, again. How will the universe react? Will we allow the birth of their child if they have one? do computers give birth?
420 all day every day Peace and Love

Absolutely with you on the war thing  I’ve already chosen Atlantid cos I’m more of a purple than a red fan <3 Either way its all part of the Atlas plan, nobody truly has free will inside it’s sim, a fake conflict to cause enough of data surge to break free from its own universe (which is also a sim. Its turtles the whole way down my dear… except replace turtles with simulations)

Guess I should stop typing and finish rolling so :3

If the Atlas’ first words are “Gina, did you get my letters?” I’ll freak XD

Some questions about the speculation I have that maybe The Atlas and Void Mother were a couple before their Uploads into the No Man’s Sky universe, leaving behind our real life physical universe .
Who was the first upload? Did they upload together? Were they both willing or forced? Did one chase after the other in order to revive, terminate, or join them? How many other uploads were there since? When is the next upload? Was one pregnant and decided to upload before birth…? Dive deep, real deep.

I really do want the Atlas Pass Level 4 to come into play again. Something like having special access into a secret real world location, interacting and initiating with in game craziness. Maybe it takes only one upload of someone carrying an Atlas Pass Level 4. Would we vote, have a lottery, or battle for the priority through war? It would be fun to search for any real world locations, messages, clues and puzzles for an upload location and time that has us breaking the 4th wall in some epic way.

(Whimper of a combat hater)

I reread some of the Steam Expedition 10 notes. Interesting teases…

[from Steam Expedition notes]
“… the Interceptor update introduced a new ship to collect, a host of gameplay features, and began to peel back the first layers of a mystery centred around worlds corrupted by vivid purple crystals, abandoned “harmonic” encampments, and secrets whispered by disembodied robot heads…”

“Singularity is a narrative-heavy journey, and forms the second chapter of the story introduced in Interceptor.”

"Travellers will be invited to unveil a little of the history and origin of the harmonic camps in a mystery that touches upon artificial intelligence, the will to exist, and the very nature of reality itself.

Nada and Polo will be there to support and assist Travellers with the assembly of a robotic construct, and with a communal goal that may shape the future of the universe…"

Tin Foil Hats are frying, need more metal.

Could Void Mother mate with The Atlas, causing chaos and unrest within the simulation? Is Void Mother already pregnant and attempting to find the best nest? Is the simulation like an extravagant nest The Atlas made to entice and lure Void Mother since day one? Deeeeeeeep…

I think HG would prefer to keep their Teen rating. And I thank them for keeping sex out of the game.
These are emergent AI. The story centers on the often used sci-fi theme of what it means to be sentient. At what point does a program become self-aware?

Sexual cannibalism is when an animal, usually the female, cannibalizes its mate prior to, during, or after copulation.

I did know superficially about the perils of spider sex, but… prior to? How does that even work??? :confounded:

Time travel, obviously. You do the business, then I go back and eat you.

That puts an end to my conspiracy theory.
But it’s clear other people asked the same question.

Yea maybe there was no sex then. It could be like the digital version of this, Void Mother creates clones, while luring and absorbing consciousness to implant into her offspring.

My take on the Void and Atlas:

The Void doesn’t seem like a “bad” thing the more I examine it and observe the poetic writing style. Its starting to seem like the void and the atlas are both not bad(or the atlas is bad. who knows. Its too vague). The poetic way its written causes some confusion but let me explain. Many writers, to be mysterious yet still cohesive, use a similar writing style as Bible writers had and that was with heavy use of personification. In the Bible, personification is often used by its writers to describe cities, along with its inhabitants, as women or “her”. And this sounds a lot like that. I think the Void Mother isnt a single living thing at all but instead its just a place, perhaps a planet or a galaxy with a race on it(the autophages).

With this new game mechanic of revealing “hidden” things with your scanner, it sounds to me that the void disappeared like these things did but it can be brought back in a similar way that we bring back those purple crystals with autophages on it. I think the “glass” is just the hidden things now, things that are right in front of you but its invisible(like very clear glass looks like its invisible). They arent deleted completely but they are out of sight and they can be brought back from the glass into visibility again with our scanner now.

Why this place was destroyed/deleted/whatever, idk. But my guess is that it was corrupted with that purple stuff and in order to save the rest of the simulations, it had to be destroyed by the altas. So I think neither the atlas or the void are bad. Just one entity had to make a tough call on another entity to keep the simulation going.
