I think some guy in Poland found some space x debris behind his warehouse recently so… One of these days.
I’m sure they’ve killed plenty of wildlife in their time already

The noticeable and attractive thing about crystals is that they’re organised. They arrange themselves into attractive geometric shapes. They have pleasing transparencies and colours.
In the majority of cases, it is possible to show that this is due to the molecular structure of the atoms comprising the crystal - the atoms arrange themselves into certain molecular shapes, and the molecules then congregate in arrangements that reflect those shapes.
However, there are some crystals that, when examined at the molecular level, turn out to have a chaotic and disorganised structure. Nevertheless, as more molecules are gathered together, a crystal structure emerges from the chaos.
It now turns out that what appears to us as random chaos does have a regular structure - but in another dimension. It is the structure in this other, unseen dimension, that is causing the crystal to eventually take on a regular, geometric form.
It raises the question - if events and structures in an unseen dimension are affecting crystal growth in our own, known, dimensions, what else might they be influencing?

I’m ordering a box of crystals to rub on my skin and harness their 4th dimensional shape to de-age myself.
Joking aside this is pretty cool and makes for a very good visual aid to introduce someone to the concepts of 4th dimensional shape

Weekly Reader and it’s quiz! I had almost forgotten all about it. I loved it! This is what kids are missing these days. It is really sad that there are almost no printed newspapers any more. The Weekly Reader was like the Sunday paper with comics with the NYTimes Crossword puzzle for kids.

I guess we’re going for the “earth being engulfed by undying and ever replicating nano swarms” end game scenario.
Because they appear to reassemble into this new form and function, the authors argue that xenobots form a kind of “third state” of life, wherein cells can reorganize after the death of an organism to form something new. These forms likely wouldn’t materialize in nature, but xenobots show that cells have a surprising ability to adapt to changes in their environment.
When I read about all the different ways humanity could end, I didn’t think there’d be a scenario where several of them would be gunning for us at once. I guess that’s that free market/marketplace of ideas the capitalists keep going on about
I used to love this website but it seems it is no more, it listed all hypothetical end game scenarios and ordered them by their likelihood and how soon they could happen
I think the nanoswarm scenario was called “the grey goo” on the website. I wonder why it’s no longer up? I must have visited it for the first time twenty years ago and as recent as a year ago.
