Glitches and Funny Pics

They obviously don’t have upscaling software or they’d be selling a larger size too.

Ownership of public screenshots is likely not enforceable, but attribution would seem the least they could do

It depends a lot on the policies of the platform you post it on. I know that facebook at least once had the policy that any pictures you posted automatically entered the public domain, no idea if they still do. Sites like ArtStation or Deviant Art obviously need quite different policies. I have no idea what Xitter’s are.

My experience with this is it’s a hydra that’s almost impossible to stop.

I used to host my own photography on hosting and a domain I paid for back in mid to late 2000s and a bunch of it started showing up on the Temu equivalents of the era on those t-shirt and mug sites etc, always a Chinese account.

I didn’t even know where to begin in stopping it and I was never intending for my art to make a profit so it was the fact someone was using it for that, that didn’t sit right with me over everything else.

Just had to wash my hands of the situation and walk away from it, but for working artists it’s a huge problem. I’m reminded of a video I saw when a seamstress design was cheaply replicated and sold in the Chinese market, even used her images, so she ordered it to do a comparison :joy:

And none of this is new. Decades ago, I took a pic with an actual camera with real film in it, of my youngest brother when he was about 2. He was wearing a striped shirt and a diaper and holding the waterhose while at our grandparent’s home. I took the film to the store and had it developed. A couple of years later, I was picking up other film I had developed and as it was in those days, your pics came in a paper envelope. That envelope sometimes had pictures on it and on that occassion, there was the pic of my brother from a couple of years before.
I remember being kind of proud of it.
Those were the days.

Is this a bug? I dunno if this is a bug or if this is intentional.

If you haven’t redeemed wading in the water milestone yet maybe don’t click ahead in case it’s intentional.

If it’s a bug, it was the greatest timed bug ever considering the milestone

Sinking like a rock? It happens each time I claim a milestone. Started a few expeditions back I think.

Well they obviously know about that bug and they definitely know the milestone they designed would have some of us lined up perfectly to replicate it I guess :joy:

Regardless, I had a great time thinking the world of glass had finally come for me.

Space station in the rings of a panet :-o

If the rings intersect the station, does that still “cloud it up?”

I wished HQ had built in an atmospherics exclusion zone inside structures (both in space and on ground.

I did not see them affect inside which was nice.

Only the outer parts intersected with the ring, so maybe the “public area” was not affected, only the non-public regions… Near the entrance it was very cloudy

As with every Expedition theres the talk of getting rid of comm balls because some players go out of their way to bring the real world in and ruin immersion or a persons day.

I’m realising now, removing comm balls is never going to stop them '^ _ ^
Working through Expedition on PC and this eh, art sculpture… was waiting for me next to my ship coming through the portal into system 3. Have all settings set to low and DLSS on ultra performance so it did what it could to blur the offending highschool art from me.

How’s that ben folds five song go? If you’re feeling small & you can’t draw a crowd; draw dicks on the wall?

edit:
Flew straight up into a glitched out… something. Looks like freighter parts stretched flat. Bigger than the planet and slicing it in two… Also visible on planet suracee, one half of horizon is just a big black shard of metal.

I could take the comms if they just weren’t right there at the RV points. If there was just a way for HG to really block all building of anything within a certain range of the RVs…

I thought I saw something in the datamining posts about a build area restriction thing but I may be misunderstanding what I was reading and made assumptions. If it is possible I would like them to switch it on please. A typical base radius would be perfect…

Those who like to see the encouraging comm balls can make an extra pilgrimage and do a victory lap, and those who really want to leave a loving message will make the trek too.

Some very dedicated griefers might be bothered to too, but by and large it will remove most of the ones placed hastily to get a laugh and cheap glory from their friends.

They already use exclusion zones for other things. The area around RVs (and to me even normal portals) should be a no land, no build, no comm balls area.
