Best I could find was that they might be the Rhizomorphs of honey fungus but couldn’t find a single picture of them growing through ice.
I would guess the layer of ice became their new top soil and they spread upwards looking for some matter to grow some shrooms on?

I do have lots of mushrooms. Best I can figure, this is common with heavy ice cover that remains for a time. Creates ideal conditions. But who would have thought it would grow thru ice.

I agree. The main design parameter for exterior grade electrical / fibre optic cable sheathing is durability. It’s not even insulation - many exterior cables are sheathed in metal. Cable sheathing that is deliberately designed to disintegrate over time completely defeats this objective.

Reminds me of a conversation (I don’t recall whether it was Reddit or Discord) where one poster was insisting, “guys, guys!” that the US moon mission was clearly organised by NMS fans and clearly appealing to NMS fans. And others asked, “What are you talking about?” – “Well, Artemis!!” – “Yes, aaaand…?”
The conversation had a bit of a disconnect, ranging from people who saw it as a historical name (obviously the sister of Apollo), over obviously just a random name (including people reading it as obviously male name), to people who thought, NMS obviously invented that name. 
I am so thrilled to know billions are being spent just to make us NMS fans happy

Games are also born out of thin air just for them and if it isnt exactly what they desire then its heads on sticks.
I have genuinely given up trying to correct people about Artemis or the greek myth name origins. Sometimes its a land mine too for those who treat pronoun corrections as if you just handed them a death sentence to their entire family
I always refer to Artemis in NMS as they/them as I always got the impression they were more androgynous or non-binary. I think the game does this too but I cant fully recall. I think “she” is fine too as its certainly closer to the mark if you’re taking the Goddess as your delineator.
Im gonna assume those leaning towards “he” read that artemis fowl book series as kids. No idea what it even is just aware it exists enough to know its about some guy.
I wonder do fans of that book also assume the launch is for them and then never actually look into NASAs reasoning either?
