Cracker has a whole 'nother meaning in the U. S. South!

Ok. Researched my mom’s mother’s father and mother. Both Irish. Could only get back to my 3rd great grandpa but they all worked on the railroad as engineers and station masters.
But then I did my mom’s dad’s family and made it to couple in their 70s who got married in Stepney, Middlesex, England. 1630. They both died 7 years later. This did lead to a coat of arms which I now have on 3 branches of my family
Ok…thanks to AI, I just found different birthdates in an actual church record…they may have been in their 30’s and did indeed have the 1 son I traced to him. So young. And at the same time. Makes you wonder what happened to them.

Tracing Irish ancestory can be quite tricky for a couple of reasons '^ _^

Historical unrest and a forceful smothering of our culture aside, a lot of birth records were lost to fires in more recent times.

I did some work experience for a month in EPIC (the irish Diaspora museum) and it has a genealogy centre on site that visitors can utilise.

One of the things I learned about it while there was that a lot of the baptism records for parishes are meticulously kept which should have both parents names and you can kind of find your way around the gaps using that route.

I’ve never had much luck with any of the sites to be honest. I search my mothers maiden name in the database of births, deaths, marriages etc on various websites and I get nothing '^_ ^ And thats VERY recent history.

There may be something behind the paywall websites that claim to have more but I’ve no way of knowing without actually paying and it feels like a trick XD

edit: I shouldve just googled first and dropped this link  Explains it better and more thoroughly than I could

For those interested in familial history a good free search website is:

This is the US site. I don’t know if they have records from other countries.

How Specific? The matches would be shorter without the fuse thing eh. LoL
There is a video game with an active ARG… And players wait for something that will happen under the Eiffel Tower in the year 2113. A Future so far they would have to pass the keys down to who lives long enough to participate. Imagine who ever shows up in the year 2113 and gets told to read the requirements, and everybody is not “very specific” enough. so sad
like said here:
“According to Ilvessuo, he has made “very specific” arrangements to ensure key holders have something to open come August 2113.”

Speaking of waiting a long time and handing the keys to the next generation to see it finish…

I know you like to get trippy and philisophical on life and existence so this might be some good brain food to munch on

I dunno much about the guy building the Eiffel Tower out of match sticks but I absolutely would come away with trauma if I was told after all my work “Yeah sorry mate, wrong matches. Not tonight.”

So his commercially available matches were disqualified cos he decided to just buy em off the supplier in bulk to save having to pay more money and spend more time beheading them… And suddenly theyre no longer “commercially available” matches?

Until, of course, they realised how stupid what they said was XD Bravo for the overturn I guess. Congrats to the matchstick man <3 Viva la Resistance!

Saw this reply to the triple omega retweet. Had to share, some peoples ignorance and emotions can really get the better of them. Straw men, EVERYWHERE!

Also after leaving a comment (I think my first twitter comment in like, five years, dunno why this was the one where I decided to pipe in) I noticed DarthTretton was also responding. Now thats a name I have not seen around these parts in an age

Why, is there some rumor going around that LNF will be an Xbox exclusive?

None. At. All.

I think there was rumor they were going to buy Hello Games back when the big Acti-Blizz merger was first starting to become a reality.

And you know how that goes; when you have console war brain… all their posts seem to be either shitting on xbox for no reason, or defending Sony for no reason, I remember being 16 years old too </3

edit: I’m remembering why I stopped investigating the timelines of people who make ridiculous posts. It just kills all hope you have for humanity.

He’s defending the use of AR15’s to hunt deer… Yeah cos, yeah? No? What? Sit down… I think we need to have a talk about your hunting abilities, and your lack of them.

Sounds amerikun. ‘I need this to hunt’…like millenia of people needed them before…one of my brothers was a bow hunter. Not a compound bow either. He had skills.
