This is a military base. The personnel have managed to get the guy in the middle promoted to Commanding Officer This is not going to end well….
Gumption goes a long way I hear. I’ve no idea what that is but the new Commanding Officer seems to be full of it!
edit:
I just met Durban, he informed me of the new CO at one of his outposts… and I’m on my way there now to solve a murder… Gee, I wonder if the two are connected? ![]()
I was interviewed for a radio advertising spot. I feel a bit conflicted.
But now I am a big hit in the field.
Been radio listening
Unlike parallel lines, I hope one day, we will meet.
Here is a bug perhaps.
When you reach Cloister, you will likely stumble upon a safe among the wreckage of a very large ship. There will be a scavenger trying to open it. Once he is out of the way, you either need to be an ex con or have 3 numbers for the code.
One of each of the numbers was given to a crew member by the Captain. They each recorded their feelings on the matter as well as the number on their personal data pads. Those data pads are spread out among the wreckage.
2 of the data pads I found. The other is missing. I finally looked online and it seems no one can find it. Bug? Or a challenge?
Here are the 2 I found. I positioned the Archive in the background as a reference point. Pic one, pad in the center. Pic two, pad just under the barrel of my gun
This is Alphonse Mucha style (I saw his works in a museum)! He was famous for painting advertisements in Europe around the year 1900. A nice reference. ![]()
I got GTA V(?) for free recently (maybe from EPIC?) when some friends wanted to do a larger multiplayer event. The event was that one of the had created crazy maps and wanted us to race on them. ![]()
To my surprise, you have to play some strange game to unlock multiplayer. Something about being a small criminal in Los Angeles.
It seemed very deep and involved, but I didn’t care about this part…
When I opened the game again later, I made my character move into some cheapo apartment, I’m wearing boring clothes, and we repair one motorcycle during the day and deliver it, slightly scratched sometimes. The items that can be bought I don’t find all that alluring.
All I do is walk around Los Angeles, climb on roofs, sometimes I steal a bike, moped, or random car (listening to a neurotic person on the radio) and drive a bit, then get out and walk again. No police ever got me.
My mobile is ringing without cease and keeps telling me I need to print fake money and buy a submarine? What for?
There are toys lying around that I can find and collect, I don’t have time for crime… ![]()
Me and a friend have a meta game we’ve tried on all GTA’s since the first.
How long can you drive like a pedestrian, obeying all traffic laws, before road rage kicks in and makes you play the game as intended?
It’s a wordy title but we were too busy gaming to workshop it after the fact.
I am finding some really intense battles in this game. Sneaking is not easy and in some cases, impossible
I was finding sneaking and combat difficult too until I got a silenced rifle with some bang to it. Now I just shoot everyone from the bushes and nobody seems to notice a thing.
I find the “It’s only stealing if someone sees you” mechanic a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes you can steal stuff from right under a guard’s nose, and he won’t notice. Other times he’ll spot you across 200 yards of parade ground, and through a concrete wall. Do different guards have different levels of awareness?
No idea. I have avoided stealing. Almost.
I have noticed some guards start seeing me when I am sneaking, from a greater distance than others so possibly it is variable
So long as it doesn’t say Detected when you are crouched you’re in the clear. Sometimes there’s a guy sleuthing in the corner that blends in with the furniture.
Playing on console, a lot of things are tied to a single button, talking, reloading, holstering and grabbing.
So many times I’ve stolen items right in front of a vendor while trying to talk to them to Sell my legal wares. I’m an honest business man I SWEAR!!
I steal everything. Unless it results in my being shot, all resources are mine. And I still run out of stuff. I never have enough ammunition or health boosts.
Holy Moly, Enshrouded did it!!
They got water physics in their Voxel game!!!
With waterfalls and everything!!!
This gives me good hope for LNF and it’s rivers etc.
To test out if it was proper physics or bound to an area, I dug a big hole down on the beach, then dug a tunnel out towards sea. The tunnel filled up with water in a realistic manner when I broke through and the force pushed me back through the tunnel and out to the beach surface where the now empty hole filled with water to above sea level to the surface of the hole and then settled.
I have been wanting proc gen games to have this ever since Minecraft pulled a nice little smoke and mirrors trick with it’s water.
What’s more is, it seems to have zero impact on performance. Whatever this is, it’s done in a very minimal way and my game still runs buttery smooth on a not so great PC.
Outer Worlds 2 getting an update now
Hope the dead remain on the ground after this. I am playing on Xbox. Sometimes the critters I kill will stand up. Still dead but upright
13.8 Gb. That’s big.
sigh. The problem with procgen and rivers is not with Voxels. It is with known bounds (respectively the lack thereof in an unbounded system like NMS).
Now, that does not mean that LNF won’t have them. LNF is limited to one planet, and while it is apparently a big planet, that fact alone makes it not impossible. It merely means that you have to put down a lot of markers for where your rivers run through, but that’s only a matter of storage (which, let’s face it, is no matter at all nowadays), since you can know your terrain in advance.
Just released, thinking of giving it a try. I do like the art style, hard to judge the story by the cover though.
Is anybody able to tell me the name of the low poly artstyle of games like Dredge, Sandwitch, Far:Lone Sails etc.
Basic colours & a sort of blocky simple graphics style.
Theres a new zombie game out (by what I believe is a solo developer) also in this style called Surroundead.
Other than being refered to as low-poly, I don’t know what this art style is called… & I really would like to, so I can search for it.
Edit. ‘Flat-shaded & ‘Papercraft’ seem to be popular references but I’m yet to find an actual name for this artstyle.
As far as I’m aware, that’s what it’s called. Never heard it referred to any other way.
Also not sure if far: lone sails qualifies. It relies a lot on textures for an overall different esthetic, IMHO.
