Has a frozen friend
I found this well, not quite a flora, not quite a mineral, maybe even a tad bit fauna, type substance on a gas giant.
The only way I can describe it is some sort of memory foam with awareness of its surroundings.
Pics weren’t gonna cut it.
It’s non scannable, just a terrain feature like grass that bends and moves as you get close, basically the grass of the gas giant with a fun hiding animation.
Yes. That’s the liquefaction I referred to earlier. It seems to sense you.
I haven’t seen a sleeping Snappie in a long time
Ok. Snappies, Clappies and Puffers now need a variety upgrade
There was a topic once somewhere here, dedicated to Slappies & their variety…
Clappies now come in all sorts of sizes, even on the same planet.
The new whackers & thumpers are very nice & I’ve seen so many variations.
Poor old cave puffies never changed much.
And cave bulbs now serve no purpose at all. Once they were a power source - which makes sense, since they glow in the dark - but now they’re abandoned.
Kelp, the waterproof variety, also got chucked in with the benchwarmers around the same time I think… All the light bulb plants were stripped of their former power by Hello Games.
It would be nice to have a reason to return to cave exploration other than elusive cave critters
At least you can pluck the kelp for an O2 boost…at least I assume you still can. Haven’t checked with this update
I don’t even go there for cave critters anymore, I learned if you just go to any POI that cuts into the land, they’ll be there. They seem to like spawning on the wrong side of cave mouths
Works every time. No more hours lost to winding tunnels and dead ends for this traveller.
I still like to explore caves if the right one jumps out at me and I feel it in the moment.
Or because something, probably the planet itself, is trying to murder me.
Caves are my best friend in Permadeath on hostile weather planets. As is the terrain manipulator. Gotta go full mole man.
Just as we were saying the cave puffies had no variety and had been left behind, I found a green one.
These are more like Grippies.
