Has anyone ever received an actual image of this critter? I have encountered it only a few times but there is never an image.
I assume what we see in the screenshots is the rock being thrown as it emerges. It sounds like a sharp spade breaking thru the soil.

I think the lack of a picture in the catalogue is probably significant - it suggests the thing may be invisible.
Of course, back in the bad old days when scanning creatures was much more difficult, the solution was to kill one and scan its dead body. Brutal, but effective.
And if they’re too fast for your boltcaster, a plasma grenade will persuade most things that it’s time for the life-force to be elsewhere.
