So here in South Africa we have a 4day long easter weekend with public/bank holidays Friday and Monday, So the update dropped at the right time, looking forward to some marathon NMS gametime.
Wow, the mech. Initially I couldnāt see the point of it, it seems slower and more laborious than just running and jumping.
However, using it in VR is magnificent - infinite jumps and very nicely controllable when jumping. Powerful weapons/mining/drilling. Also no frame drops in VR, which is important.
I love just walking and getting lost, but now I can do it without having to worry about acid rain or 150 degree temperatures melting my skin.
From what I heard, even turning without jumping works a lot better in VR. As if they made a mistake for normal play, where turning is a pain.
Turning around, even in VR, is a bit of a pain. It doesnāt seem possible to turn around on the spot. Ok, apart from that itās great.
Turning for me in PSVR with move controllers works ok most of the time. You have to twist the controllers instead of tilting which is more natural when moving so Iām not sure how much I tried to spin in place. It seems better if you twist both at the same time. But if facing up a steep hill it doesnāt like to turn at all (or move for that matter). Takes a bit of a hop to get moving. Still a lot nicer that driving the other exocraft in vr.
[EDIT - ok im wrong its just a return to Anomaly function if you teleported from the Anomaly Teleporter]
i.e. it only appears as a menu option from the destination after teleporting from the Anomaly.
Teleport back to Anomaly (nexus)
Tested this and found
- Anomaly must be in a different system than you
- call up the main menu in game (on PC xbox controller i push down button on the 4way crosshair buttons)
The option appears, just scroll to it and select (icon is the anomaly symbol with a refresh/rotate/return arrow on it

Development update 10
Itās a small thing in the grand scheme, but I just noticed that Fleet Commanders are dressed similar to we are, in the game. It hasnāt always been like that has it? I think thatās really cool!
IGN: No Manās Sky Landing on Xbox Game Pass in June 2020 - IGN.
ā¦and a Win10 version? What have we been playing on PC?..I am a bit confused.
Very interestingā¦also confused for PC unless they mean a non steam or GoG version? Like a boxed disc for instore?

Sounds like Microsoft will be releasing a PC version that does not require GoG or Steam?
Below is the actual announcement on Xbox Wire by Sean Murray:
Quote from above article
āOur small team have many more exciting things to come and we canāt wait to show you what weāve been working on.ā
I think they just mean the windows store? Not sure⦠Iāve never opened the windows store anyways.
I have used it only a couple of times and download times from it are terrible, at least for me. Their offerings are unimpressive. I guess NMS could be a big draw.
It seems that you can buy an Xbox Game Pass for PC and then use it to play many games. That pass will now allow access to play No Manās Sky.

Windows 10 computers come with a Xbox Game Bar and Xbox Console Companion UWP apps. There is a new Xbox (Beta) app too. Microsoft describes that as:
āWith the new Xbox app for Windows 10 PCs, play the games you love to play. Browse the catalog, view recommendations, and discover your next favorite game from a library of high-quality PC games with Xbox Game Pass. See what your friends are playing and chat with them across Xbox console, mobile, and PC. You can also purchase great PC titles, DLC, and add-ons from the Store, all in one place.ā
I get great download times, but it may depend on your location and internet access speeds.
My question is ⦠If you normally play solo and have been using Steam, is there any advantage to using the Xbox version ? (I do have an older video card ā GTX 960 with 4GB)
Yes. I forget about the Xbox/Microsoft connection. This makes sense now. Thanks for the reminder.
As for any advantage in using the Xbox version, I have no idea. Check the specs when it shows in the Windows store. I just hope the specs are up to date. They have not been updated for Steam.
Iāve switched to Xbox 1 S and it is so nice to not wonder will I be able run the next update? PC was such a job to play keep up with latest this and that update. I donāt need the editor or mods, it is ahhhh yea, letās go play right now and nothing has changed because Win or Steam update created chaos
Beginning this weekend, there will be a short pause between seasons of weekend missions. These will be returning very soon, featuring new story content weāre really enjoying from one of the writers on Atlas Rises.
