Pulled out my glasses from one of my old games I can’t seem to part with

It was like the Atlas was in the room with me! Amazing!

How long did it take you to build that? You must be a base-building dynamo!

Not really sure, a while  Although quicker than usual as there’s hardly any glitched pieces.
Should be a good one for VR, in the middle theres an entry into a huge cave system.

Been time that I haven’t post anything about my bases work.

I found a material that can be sold for 800K, and I need a LOT of Fungal, so I decided to start building a Fungal farm on a forest planet!
Of course, it is not as impressing as others, but I thought I’ll share it anyway!

Having started a new game a short while ago, I decided to make a lot of money by building a really big dome farm.

I expanded it into the surrounding valley, until the hills got in the way. So I went up, and added a second layer.

I keep thinking “There must come a point where this base gets too big, and just stops working”. So far, it hasn’t happened. I keep on making the base bigger, and it keeps on working.

I wonder whether having 16 Gb of main memory, and 8 Gb of video memory, has anything to do with it.

hahaha @Polyphemus, just as I said, not as impressive as others!

I would suspect crashing with large bases to be due to shortage of video memory. I used to have a rather large base crashing me when trying to view all of it from a distance. My CPU has 32GB of memory, while my GPU (GTX770) only had 4GB of memory.

My new GPU (RTX2080Ti) with 11GB of memory, does no longer crash me viewing the same base from a distance. It does however struggle big time with 20-25 FPS, where I usually have 60 FPS across the board.

Something else worth to mention is that it seems to me that ‘old’ base parts struggle a lot less. I have never really been able to pinpoint the specific parts causing performance issues, but the new parts have always felt less optimised.

Anyways, huge farm you got there, pretty cool! With the build height limit, you have quite a ways to go for that matter

Testing my limits.

Welcome to the Drop In Hotel.
Upon entering the Hotel, you will have the option of taking the boring stairs or taking advantage of our signature Drop In Shaft. (You will be asked to sign a waiver before proceeding)

If you took advantage of our free shield recharging stations before the Drop, you should arrive safely on the Main Floor. Here you can calm your nerves at our Bar and Lounge or satiate your appetite with our free Continental Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner.
Each of our inviting rooms is color-coded and comes with TV, personal bath and a heating unit.
Each room also has an indoor balcony. A perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

We hope to see you soon!

If you are brave and don’t mind entering the world of 3xperimental, here is the Portal Address. Beware, there are a number of odd issues but it seems to be fairly safe. This is a temporary file for me, PC, Creative

Finally returned to my earlier post and decided to build a prototype of the Total Perspective Vortex from Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

For more than 20 years my job took me all over the country. At times, all over the world. I spent more than half of that period living in hotels.

Your design is sooo familiar. It feels like home. I know where the bar would be. I know where to go for breakfast.

Admittedly, the elevator shaft is a bit tricky - especially after a few drinks.

:smiley:Trust me, the stairs are a bit tricky as well, even when sober. :cocktail:

Awesome job @johnnycloud
