What's on the Other Side?

Found this on Permadeath, after going through the first story related puzzle on my way to make contact with Apollo again. It was a huge narrow cliff face with a natural tunnel that you could see the other side through, like something bore right through it.

Hereā€™s a view from the outside

Itā€™s a conversation that goes back to July. Long break between sentences.

Do these planets give any distinct indication in their descriptors similar to infested planets or ancient bones etc?

Been looking and landing quite a lot with no results

Must. Have. New. Base. Parts.

This one has the word relic in itā€¦or ruinā€¦ :unamused: my brain is burned out. I played too long today

Seems fitting now my first post with the new update has ruins in it

These ruins are the ones that give you base parts, did you explore them?

You need to mine some ruined structures to get polished stone as building material. And you need to interact with memory stones to get the blueprint.

Iā€™ve noticed dropping from high up into water causes injury in permadeath. Not sure if itā€™s new but it certainly was new to me.
Survived luckily.
Iā€™m trying to get a maxed-everything permadeath save again so it would have been very depressing to wipe out 100hrs or so of very careful not-dying.

I started a new Permadeath playthrough in December, my first since before Atlas Rises.

I kept forgetting I was in permadeath and would end up falling into business as usual, few times I almost lost the save to swimming with reckless abandon to scan the last fishy and realise way too late how deep I am and that I ran out of oxygen long ago, just about made it before the last health box took the hit.

Or just flinging myself off a mountain, realising this isnā€™t my normal save, I donā€™t have my jetpack upgradesā€¦

After years of avoiding permadeath, I started last week. I am going to attempt to get the psn trophy. I have bit it twice and I am on my third attempt. The first and second I was going through the story and tutorial. The first one was going well, for some reason I ended up on a firey planet. I wasnā€™t paying attention to the hud and assumed I was in a Storm. Then ā€œStormā€ warning spoke and a extreme storm rolled in. I was heading back to the ship and rushing because I had to go some where in real life. My protections where drop fast. I died trying to dig a cave. The second I just wasnā€™t feeling my starter planet.

Now, I am just nanite cluster farming. Got lucky and stumbled on two patches of curious whateverā€™s.

Now that youā€™re both going through Permadeath I might just have to go back to mine too once the honeymoon period of purple systems/ titan expedition is worn off.

I think I had gone through the second portal in Atlas Rises/Artemis quest so you guys have time to catch up

Iā€™m midway through the purge & i havent done the autophage or underwater (drank the water) missions yet.
Leylaps is my constant companionšŸ™‚ & getting through all the fighting was a bit nerve wracking.

Taking it steady, only a couple of hours at a go so I donā€™t get the "yay-boost-oops-crash-land & a-snappy-got-me black screen of death quote :skull_and_crossbones:

Essentially, Iā€™m preparing for the Purpleā€¦

My plan is to get the first glyph. I was reading the portal thatā€™s all the first glyphs takes you five jumps from the center. Iā€™m hoping just to find a traveler and not have to do the story. Iā€™m also cheating by redeeming the alpha vector.

I think my first save death happened because I let Artemis die and I sold his ship for scrap. :grimacing:
