A mist-like effect would be appropriate since the increased color should be due to the amount of atmos you are looking thru.
It does seem different and more misty/foggy

Ive noticed as well you may not always get the decoration on first encounter.
On my third encounter with a pirate listening station, it finally unlocked. Has me wondering what other ones ive visited that should have given me an unlock but didnt
