Moons in rings are not actually that uncommon, but they would leave a gap in the ring, and if they were that big in relation to the ring they’d probably clear it entirely.
Stations wouldn’t be too bad, if the rings wouldn’t be visible inside.

The intersection is easily enough to detect mathematically, so you could change the system so that this stuff is generated differently. However, messing with the order things are generated in in a procedural system may well lead to another reset, or at least meay lead to all those moons just vanishing from existence (an option less feasible for space stations, I think).

@jedidia
I’ve found a few NMS systems with a moon in the ring. It’s a horrible blinding mess if you try and explore close to the intersection point.

Yes, that’s what I meant. I’m not saying this shouldn’t be considered a bug since there is obviously zero dedicated handling for their visuals. Just saying that moons inside rings do actually exist.

I agree – not a bug. Just very, very annoying. And not “logical” in terms of the effects.

@sheralmyst - I’m suspecting that the lens flare changes with the Desolation update are the reason behind some of my photos getting washed out. :frowning:

Annoyingly, weapons now no longer work in buildings, but the snappers “work” just fine. Grrr.

A pretty little glen…

An arrow space station – I kind of like the markings

A neat “Space Encounter” – I took the plunge.

“Spent” 3 Anomaly detectors in a system. Got a Rogue Black Hole (passed up), Messenger of the Atlas, and a Pirate-Controlled Monitoring Station (blasted).

Then, when pulsing in the system, another anomaly appeared … a different Messenger of the Atlas.
