Screenshots v2.0

The new “Anomaly Detector” works extremely well. I finally forced myself to stop playing at 7:15am [shhh … don’t tell my wife why I’m like a Zombie right now. LOL]

I’m a bit dismayed that the Photo mode has slightly different color and saturation that the in-Ship HUD view, but I can “fix” that in post-processing.

I love the abstract art look to some shots that No Man’s Sky makes possible…

Space Jellies now have more color [?] but are much more washed out – the newer lighting scheme did them in. I hope HG adjusts that (a feedback will go in later today)

It was dark and dusty, but I managed to land my spacecraft.

So I helped this guy out in a Daily Mission. He was not very appreciative.

But that’s okay because he left his brand new iPad behind. It’s mine now.

Then I saw what was on it…

I don’t know, I get the feeling the guy never really left…

Yeah, I think I will pass on the iPad…

Good clean photo. Mine was in he midst of an asteroid field … much too tedious to take the time to clear it. Sigh.

When you’re pulsing through asteroid fields, it’s very hit and miss whether you’re come out in a clear area or not when you decelerate.

Asteroid “waves” really annoy me ("bust my chips?). They often ruin what could be a really good photo.

Wow!
I’ve never encountered that one…

Do you remember what it was called by any chance.

Not a clue. I was in a hurry at the time…

The Space Encounter is called Messenger of Atlas :link: GamePedia

I’d not seen the ghostly gray type of “columns.” They do stand in stark contrast to their “collectable cousins.”

Some Void Eggs are more attractive than others…

Rings as abstract art…

I’m guessing those columns are a bug due to new material file changes. There’s several similar issues in the latest update, like the all-black Eye of the Korvax helmet, or Korvax buildings turning from bright matte textures to all dark shiny metal.

Maybe it’s just me, but moons and space stations inside a planet’s rings weirds me out. That the ghostly rings effect permeates the inside of the space station doesn’t seem realistic, even for a SciFi game. One can “justify” it by assuming that because this is just a simulation, “anything goes,” but that’s kind of a cop-out.

I don’t think it’s a purposeful artistic choice. More likely the ring and station/moon generation rules overlap, and they couldn’t be bothered to make a workaround (like a gap in the rings). Admittedly, it doesn’t break anything.
