In what has become standard procedure for a universe resetting update, I started a new game to learn all the new stuff and wait out the broken stuff.
When the intro panned around and revealed my new starting planet had rings, I was floored.
After sorting out the new crafting system, I got my ship repaired and was back in space where I belong.
One of the neighboring planets had a tropical moon with a view of my ringed “home” world. (Still pretty excited about rings, as you can see).
Sporting a new look after a trip to the Space Station. The customization is most excellent.
The new fauna looks great! Much better texture blending and behavior (he was “bold” but did not like my copper mining in the background).
I mean, just LOOK AT THIS PLANT! so cool.
Decided to stay a while, and set up a base on conveniently flattened mountain top- named Paradise Peak.

Sorry to break a good poem, but… WHAT!?! - And it was today, only an hour ago that I met my first anomalous Traveller. I AM NOT ALONE!!! (Then another joined, but I never saw that one)… Actually I was in a cave staring at some new toxic plant, and he ventured off into the cave to find me, and when we met, he waived at me, I waived back (full of emotion) and he said through chat…
"In No Man's Sky, you can do anything!"

He dropped an exocraft pad, and we both drove around and jumped crazy cliffs together.
We mined for resources, acted kinda stupid I guess… He used chat, but I don’t know how?

Saving my 1883-hour save for when the kinks are ironed out, I started a new Normal save. Died from exposure before getting the hang of the new interface/tutorials. lol But finally repaired my ship and got off that frozen but incredibly gorgeous hell of a planet.
Strangely I felt torn leaving. Exploring is what I do. Will I ever return? :shrug:
