More postcards came in since the grey album went away, it’s probably safe to continue sending postcards.

Hope everyone is enjoying the festivities! Sorry to distract from the fun, but i had an idea and figured i’d try it out.

I was looking back at the timestamps in the 2016 dataset, and saw that some were reserved by system and some werent; i figured the Foundation update was probably one of them, and i was correct, so i started trying to relate my experience with the foundation update to System via the memory block form, when i stopped halfway, having noticed the URL of the website. Specifically the “request-memory-timestamp-094317” part. Was there a specific time System needed?

I “ran” to the epoch converter, and replaced the last 6 digits of the reserved timestamp i had entered earlier with that time: Nov 25th, 2016. NOT the 26th, but the day before. There was a post on Nov 25th, though, announcing the upcoming update.

So i submitted the memory, making sure the title was the most likely word to be associated with the memory (foundation) and my personal anecdote about what it was like to see that announcement. I’m also going to suggest we submit a direct copy of the announcement, no editorial content whatsoever, in case the editorial parts aren’t helpful to System.

PS: memory link was cut off from the pic, but here it is: Foundation Update Incoming - No Man's Sky

ETA: In case this doesnt get anchored, the specific time of Friday, November 25, 2016 at 5:18:37 PM might help us narrow down the proper memory; the website this announcement was made doesnt specify to the second, so i’m not 100% certain.

Wanted to add evidence that I did a non-editorial version, too; if one of them is anchored, we’ll hopefully know which one is better going forward!

Submitted one for August 10th

Operator:

ToddUmptious/ETARC_Atlas-CSD - Window 4013

Timestamp:

1786374974

Memory Title:

So Many Emotions You Guys!

Memory Value:

And a couple of Emoji’s too

Memory Quote:

After a wonderful day of celebrations across the Shared Dream from Travellers and Operators alike, the very next day the Founder of the Dream took to skies and broke radio silence. Transmissions were picked up on Ham Radios at the Edison Township Amateur Radio Club and many strong memories were shared from a perspective we don’t normally get from the outside looking in.

There were no Emoji’s to express their love for this community nor forecast the future-past of the Shared Dream and what was to come, but there was talk of Memories of Emoji’s and where that all started:

"It’s my social media account and people were urging me to post more, and I was just like, ‘I’m done! I have no interest in this! I’m not going on social media! … My time should be spent just making the game!’, right?

**“That’s sort of always been my attitude since release. That we should speak to people through the work that we do and the updates that we do. And I was having this sort of argument back and forth, and people were like, 'Go on, just put something out, just say something. And I was like, what’s the minimum we can say and get away with it? And someone was like, one letter. And then someone else said an emoji, and I was like, ‘Fine, I’ll do an emoji, and then that’s all I’m doing on social media!’” **

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Memory Link:
