The most adorable thing ever in NMS!

The fauna behavior is excellent now. This thing rolled slowly in the grass and then gained speed as it rolled down the hill, carefully slowing so it did not roll into the water.
These critters were leaping into the air from the ground and into the water.

And this thing, well, it was just terrifying! :scream:

Here’s critters I’ve encountered so far. Nothing too crazy for me yet.

Summary

Big boy.

Bat bird.

His eyes glow in the dark. :eyes:

I use to have a really cool doglike creature near my base, now I got these guys.

I don’t mind the new fliers at my base though.

No comment on this one.

Flying Dino Snakes.

Red Shark. :shark:

Invader Zim anyone?

Fly boy.

Aqua Gophers?

:butterfly: :bird:

Another big boy.

Big Bug Boy.

I don’t know with these two.

Normal birds?

Me and sherylmyst on my ship to avoid getting eaten.

3xp 25/09 patch

  • Fixed an issue that caused industrial power grid batteries to be used as bait for robotic creatures, instead of ion batteries.
Testing…and yes, it is fixed, however the Discovery listing still states Enzyme Fluid as bait.

And again I have to wonder about HG’s code reuse guidelines. How the hell do you end up with 2 different menus showing two different values for the same object? There’s supposed to be one piece of logic to generate/retrieve that information, but apparently there isn’t…

So far that is my favorite new fauna, very weird!

For the longest time, all I ever got were the creatures with tiny heads and big bodies, or something gross and bug like, or just so random it didn’t appeal to me whatsoever.
Then, the update hit, and I found THESE guys. They were adorable in their own right, and were a joy to watch fly around. They actually flapped their wings like a butterfly. :butterfly:

When the local toxic weather rolled in, they all settled down on the ground.
