Caught this giant crab walking from land into the depths. Is this new behaviour or a bug?

Made a video to show the crab underwater

Well I’ve seen an animal do that so it may be a feature.

I have seen it as well, but I also have seen fish beach themselves - I think it’s bad pathing

What’s the largest creature you guys have found in game? Here’s mine…I’m in the picture, look close…really close. Sadly the unit value from scanning it is the same as that of any advanced animal…nothing special though I feel this should be worth a few million units. I first noticed it from a nearby trading outpost…it was at a distance and I still had to look up from the giant outpost to see it.

So we know about the bovine feet on the Abominations but, where did these hands come from? Look humanoid…:scream:

He looks so friendly…I remember when those kinds of critters always came charging towards me.

Yeah it wasn’t hostile…those used to be really aggressive when they were tiny. But it might be peaceful because it’s the Eissentam galaxy, I’m not sure…since NEXT literally no creature has been aggressive towards me…I’ll occasionally see a predator chasing other animals but from the dozens of worlds I’ve been on and hundreds of creatures I’ve scanned and been around no wildlife has attacked me.

Yes, I think they only become aggressive if you shoot them. I did happen to stand between a hunter and its prey and I took damage even though he was not attacking me.

So far they’ve only ever started to run away when I started shooting them. There might be an issue with the new AI that makes it very unlikely for them to attack the player.

Depends on the animal…while none I’ve seen have attacked it’s also highly unlikely they eat Korvax…wires are not very tasty after all…but there are definitely animals that run away the instant you’re remotely close to them…I have a couple near my base. I constantly had to chase them to feed them carbon for missions because I didn’t want to feed cobalt to the ones that didn’t run away.

Try picking on a large predator and see what happens…

I haven’t tried killing that creature because I had no reason to but with my fully upgraded and doubled down on Shields and Jetpack I doubt I’d be in much danger…I can fly quite some distance and for quite some time…at least 30 seconds air time…and the plasma launcher slaughters anything it touches…including me if I’m not careful but I never had issues with it once I learned what it can do. I’d wager one solid plasma launcher shot would take care of pretty much anything if I needed it to but really my boltcaster would likely do just fine.

I’m well past that initial shock stage from the release of NEXT and my character is back on top of the world as was the case before. My ships still need quite some work though and some of the upgrades can be infuriatingly varying so will require a lot of copies to be bought to get the truly good variants of the S class…like the hyperdrive tech modules…they can be as little as +200 light years or as much as +250 light years…so a 50 light year difference with a +64% bonus can be up to an insanely huge 82 light year difference per module. So there’s a lot of grind of wasting nanite clusters on buying and scrapping modules…for five ships…and I need five or six good ones per ship. That will need time.

Seen a predator just now that ate his kid… :sob:

Haven’t seen predators attack their own kind…they don’t usually spawn more than a couple at a time and when there is more than one there’s a huge pack of something else around for them to go chew on.

I have seen the below creature (or similar) posted several times, but noticed it actually has a mouth, including tongue

I know it’s silly, but for some reason these creatures always make me think of Masahiro Ito, albeit a PG version of something he could have drawn.

The hunter types on my planet will attack me if I shoot them…which I do on a regular basis because I get tired of them killing the critters that flock near my base.
