I agree with the take that there’s little to no traction of PSS on Reddit at least, and those interested will already have picked up the conversations here or in the 'cord.

The trust level of the voter or questioner i think is irrelevant to the substance of the question. A new follower may have a different viewpoint then someone entrenched in the lore and ask a relevant question that we don’t think of due to being lost in the weeds. But the question can be asked and if its obvious that its previously answered or irrelevant it will be pointed out im sure.

Polls on here can be set to a specific trust levels, admins, moderators, staff, and the 5 trust levels (0-5), by default everyone can vote, which is what we will be using.

I don’t claim to speak for everyone on NMScord at all, but what you’ve said seems completely in line with what we were talking about over there. We’ll need to agree on the voting stuff later, but this is good to get us going on the initial phase, I think. I’ll link this over there and see if anyone has final thoughts.

I don’t think filtering 300 questions is a complex task. That task will be split across the locations of the polls.
If the poll asks participants to rank their three questions 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice. Limit each question to say 30 words max.
The poll masters at each location will have the role of filtering out similar questions.
Three questions I believe would throw up a better pool of questions. If there are unexpected numbers the 1st or 2nd question can be considered.

Quick upvote. Do we agree on this? We could go ahead and start that thread and everyone can be thinking of their one question and go ahead and list it there. If you are like me, you may forget your question if you don’t get it down soon.

Honestly, we’ve tried this sort of thing here before. The more choices you give people, and the more democratic you try to be, the more you get bogged down in endless voting and discussions.
If you want this thing to happen, you need to move fast. Less discussion, more action - fewer choices, more decisions.

Yes. I actually submitted this event as a timestamp. I don’t know if it will be chosen but it really needs to be in the record.

Understood @Gumsk , you were kind enough to provide us a nice summary from initial discussion over there. I did not mean to push you in a decision making role 
I do think it is good to have Discord reflect on some of the points we touched on.
- Limit submission of initial lists of questions to only NMS Discord and Atlas CSD/ETARC forum.
Those other active operators elsewhere will have to find their way to either of us. - Operators make a choice where to submit their question (either Discord or Forum)
- Limit amount of questions to submit to one per user.
- The amount of questions per community to be combined in a final voting: 15 to make 30 total for final voting round. (Might have some duplicates?)
- Final list to vote on, will be done on either Discord or Forum
I am personally undecided, just want as many operators as possible to cast their final vote(s)

Being an active part of both groups, I’d say these rules look pretty good, honestly! It keeps participation open for Active Operators, but also gets us done and covers major ground in the limited time that we have.
One thing I’m not sure about is the number of questions if Operators from other communities will have to make their way onto NMScord / ETARC. We might need a bigger pool to accomodate those “new” arrivals from other parts of the NMSverse? Not too drastically bigger, but I think it depends on how many people decide to join either community for this event.

I fear the LLM black box that is the silencing bot for new folks.
Aside from that, I do not agree with the single entry per Operator, especially given the gamut of styles of questions available to us - I do however note I am not well aligned on this particular Operator task and am willing to concede quite freely.

I’d love to get every possible individual operator involved. I do however find it hard to judge how many are actually being left out this way, not following along with what we (Discord and Forum) will have planned. And how many of those, will not be able to find their way to us? The final voting for that same reason kind of concerns me too

Yeah, I have no problem with one submission per person here, but I think the consensus on NMScord was just a slow-mode so people don’t spam, something like 1 or 2 hours. We’ll then let the responses sort things and curate from there.
