Photo mode in VR doesnt show the glyphs, next time I find an SSS for you guys I’m gonna have to track a portal down or free up a slot in my custom wonders.
@DevilinPixy congrats on the first natural SSS.

This next guy was very skittish, and wouldn’t stand still for the picture. He’s also so small he’s almost invisible in the photo, so I had to draw a circle round him.
These next two are both on the same planet:
I ran out of patience. Keep ‘em comin’!
A few days ago I discovered a SSS creature - I called it a “Skelephant”, and I posted the description and portal address here. I didn’t bother to claim it or name it - I generally don’t. Nor did I claim or name the planet or system.
I was, nevertheless, really annoyed today to discover someone else had followed my directions, gone to the system, and claimed the discovery for themselves.
I suppose if I don’t claim stuff, I can’t blame people who do - but it still feels like having your work stolen.
Who was the usurper?
I got two more SSS class but was in VR so got no glyphs for you guys ![]()
Psvr2 is actually less comfortable to wear than psvr1. I could wear the original for over an hour, currently I can go 40-50 mins with psvr2 before my head starts to hurt. Apparently they mad the padding softer so the head haptics would be more prominent.
With heas haptics on i can barely make it 40 mins so I turned those off. Cool idea but no thanks, needs more time in the oven.
I have those turned off completely now and its definitely wearable for longer. Ive heard people are taking the padding off their psvr1 and slapping it on to the psvr2.
My personal comfort hack has been a beanie, but getting it and the vr to be in the perfect comfort spot can be tricky, i need a smaller less baggier beanie me thinks.
Overall the experience has been great, finding creatures for my team this way has been a lot of fun and its been a while, years maybe, since I felt this compelled to check every planet and every creature.
The odd time ive ducked out on an underground where its one of those planets where even POIs can barely carve out an entrance to a cave due to the terrain formation.
I found one that had 11 land creatures and 2 undergorund, but all the land was tiny islands but bare, hundreds of milds apart moreso than the clustered islands.
And every island was an incredibly steep sine wave with no purchase.
I spent an hour and found zero caves.
Im now just avoiding places like this to speed things up a bit and avoid frustration inside confined goggle space.
I keep finding really interesting creatures that are SAS of some formation but passing on them.
Which had me thinking, i dont need a full SSS team to beat the NPCs. It feels like this would be more the ideal situation for playing other players. And what are the chances ill actually want to play other players but also, be some sort of person whose goal it is to be the very best? Like no one ever was?
That just isnt me. I literally throw games if I feel the other person is more invested in winning than I am. It just instantly kills my enjoyment of whatever the thing is and I want to exit the situation asap.
So I think I may switch gears and take on creatures I think look great moreso than ones that have full S tier.
Also of note, all of Oceanus reward creatures are SSS class. Only gotten two so far but getting close to the next two (beating x amount of champions and beating oceanus x amount of times).
I may have had that last one already if I hadnt kept forgetting to visit them each day for the daily challenge.
So far my progress on that is 7/9.
Which seems to delight star trek fans.
I’m not going to name names. As I said, it’s my own fault - if I don’t want people to do this, I should claim the stuff myself. It’s just that over the years, I’ve got into the habit of not claiming stuff - it generally feels better to leave things the way I found them, rather than cluttering up the universe with junk. Like the old countryside code - “leave only footprints, take only memories”.
However, that was in a universe where the things I was looking for weren’t vanishingly rare, and really hard work to find. You can be sure that when I found the latest one, I stomped my big ugly footprints all over it. Nobody else is claiming that one.
If you were really determined to find out who claimed the skelephant, you could travel to the portal address and look.
Im gonna do that. Been meaning to make a trip to get some Polymon. Then im gonna throw stones at the usurper from the safety of my glass house ![]()
It wasn’t me. I have not travelled to any of the addresses yet. ![]()
Now we see the full power of disgruntlement. I moaaned about people appropriating my discoveries - and the Gods heard my complaint, and granted me two SSS creatures ON THE SAME PLANET!
I’ve christenedd this one “Poly’s Space Hopper”
…And this one I’ve called “Poly’s Self-Fairylighting Reindeer”
I probably inadvertently do this often because of the “upload all discoveries” button. ![]()
To be fair, that’s quite possibly what happened here. The person who stole my discovery may not even know they did it. That’s why I say it’s my fault - but it’s still annoying, and I’m making a point of claiming them now. I’ve put a lot of work into finding these things.
If you find a SSS tameable low flier with parrot like features, you gotta call it Poly’s Wannacrakker.
If you go the system with the two SSS creatures, the planet next door has a tameable SAS flying beetle. It’s not a parrot, but it can fly. However, “Poly WannaDungBall” doesn’t have the same comedy value.
It’s interesting that the latest find seems to have raised my game - I didn’t think a SAS creature was worth reporting here any more.
It is pretty cool that the Dung Beetle works for His Majesty in the SAS.
Financial cutbacks. Our military is not what it once was. Good job we don’t have a major ally starting wars all over the World.
I didn’t know until I read your post. I am sorry. I hit the upload all without thinking about all the planets I have been to in the last 2 weeks. Again I am very sorry @Polyphemus.
I wasn’t going to name anyone. As I said, it’s my own fault for not claiming stuff when I find it. When I say I’m annoyed, it’s myself I’m annoyed at - I could have anticipated the situation, but I didn’t bother. If I’m going to advertise a desirable location, it should be obvious to me that other people will visit, and that some will just claim everywhere they’ve been.
No apology is necessary. The game design makes this sort of thing almost inevitable. I have learned my lesson, and I am more careful now.
I discovered a fairly new site dedicated, it seems, to documenting varied fauna for arena combat… xenodex.

The url is not working for me, might be because it links to a web app deployment directly, or still too fresh to work? I believe this should be the actual website, which provides the app download upon visit:
