Voyagers Update 6.0

After that, you can scan around the tall antennae thingies and there are always some there. Only in Dissonent worlds though…I think…

Cheers folks.

I went to a disonnant planet and destroyed an inverted mirror and all the corrupted sentinels. Beating them scanned for a disonance spike/sentinel ship and at some point during the encounter an echo locater was dropped.

I visited both the ship and harmonic camp.

Pulse driving in the next system triggered the attempted hijack by our Autophage ambassador.

Not sure which one triggered it but it was one of them. I suspect it might be the sentinel ship because of why they attempted to hijack the ship.

It was this dialogue that led me to think maybe I needed the living ship first. Glad to know it’s nothing that expensive on the QS and wait time.

Speaking of, living ship fleet is the next goal. I have enough QS for the first egg after two weekend missions :+1:

The wiki solution of harmonic camp is the most likely culprit.

Interestingly, I had visited a dissonant planet before completing the final stages of atlas path and Artemis quest.

Echo Locaters never dropped and fighting corrupted sentinels at inverted mirrors only got the attention of regular sentinels, which means corrupted sentinels waves don’t actually happen until after Artemis or atlas path or possibly both.

I did have a close call with death after getting a bit reckless. Forgot what mode I was in for a moment.

Believe it or not, Autophage are in every system that is inhabited. Any POI that has ruined scrap they’ll be there, drop pods and those busted smoking tech nodes are my favourites, followed by crashed freighter.

Crashed Ships they feel a bit stalkerish/vulture like peeping on the pilot.

My Permadeath run just got ended by a tornado on a gas giant. I accepted my faith.

The game crashed on the death quote screen and I submitted report via the ps5 prompt.

I figured the save was nuked on death so wasn’t expecting anything there after the crash.

It didn’t delete itself :face_with_peeking_eye:

I feel like I don’t have the right to launch that save again.

What do you think? (I know I’m gonna anyway  even the game recognised that was a bugged tornado and it didn’t count :eyes:)

The fates have ruled in your favor.

Evading death, no matter how close to the final instant, is evading death. Clearly you accomplished it.

PS: In permadeath, avoid gas giants. Tornadoes are way too frequent.

The more I think about it, the more I realised SHE saved me.

It happened while I was harvesting materials in the first purple star system to complete In Stellar Multitudes.

Upon death I became data marked for deletion, and She intervened. The Void Mother restored me, brought back from a world of glass.

I figure I have no choice but to lean into this Permadeath head canon. So I have returned in a new form for the playthrough (I was dressed in Classic Todd beforehand)

I say the Gods have favoured you & your sacred quest to acquire a squadron of living ships is blessed. Thou shalt continue. It is your destiny.

Corvettes have made Permadeath one of my favourite modes for Multiplayer/Traveller encounters.

In Permadeath, you only see other Permadeath players at the Anomaly. It’s always been this way but you wouldn’t notice too much regularity with the original starships.

With corvettes however, you start to notice the regulars. You begin to see the same corvettes time and time again on your visits. There’s a weird sense of “oh it’s that iteration again, the little Gek with the skull staff.”

There’s one I kept seeing but I never paid too much attention to the chat. They’d spend a lot of time at the egg synthesiser and rarely departed.

Last night they sent a call out. Who wants a dragon egg?

I approached their corvette and the whole thing was a ship cut out to act like a market stall, with holograms for you to choose which dragon pet you wanted.

I can’t wait for it to hatch, should be ready when I log in.

I am going to gift them the most expensive item I have on me now any time I see that corvette in the Anomaly.

Permadeaths reduced multiplayer presence might be the best way to experience small community in this game.

I finally decided to get some pilots for a squadron on my Permadeath playthrough.

Since I’m sticking with the radiant pillar for this journey, I figured they could have these as I wasn’t going to be using them.

I couldn’t get the iron vulture to work, it would just stay there pilotless but I could buy it back. I also tried the star runner but it just disappeared when I traded so not sure if it works or is like iron vulture.

Updated Dec 18th:

I hatched that dragon egg I got from the Permadeath vendor and their magical corvette.

Off to go get slain by Éowyn

And for the first year I borrowed my grandson’s PS4 which I don’t have access to. After that I played on nvidia’s gforce now platform. 7138 hours is almost 9% of my life since the game came out.

They say you sleep more as you age. Are you sure you’re not asleep at the keyboard?
