USNMENT00831792, cool!

USNMENT stands for United States National Museum, Entomology Collections. It is part of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) in Washington, D.C if Google is correct. That number might refer to a museum specimen or object.

Took another stab at this.

The corrupted image is literally a photograph of what is known as a “Holotype Specimen.”

In that same post, we get this second clue:

in search of a holographic mystery.

So I went out on a limb and submitted a memory for May 21st, 2018 when we received W/ARE dev kits to view the holographic player model, ringed planet and frigate teasers for No Man’s Sky NEXT.

Here are the hologram videos if you want a brief trip down memory lane:

Player Model

Ringed Planet

Frigate

Yep, it is. We ID’d it with it in the discord earlier (there’s a post a bit further up with the specimen boards).

Yeah.. Marsh, P. M. 1989. Pan-Pacific Ent. 65 (1): 66.
Percnobraconoides Jojoba

We went really deep into this on discord lmao

Yes, I merely wanted to confirm it actually all matched up. A lot of active research being done in the NMS Discord.

@vector_cmdr I have not been following it all though, but am I still seeing speculation for the exact specimen of Heterospilus, Doryctinae, determined by Luhman?
Or has it already been found?

Do we know if anyone’s enroute to the Tuscon location? I happen to be around 5 hours away and will be enroute if nobody’s going.

It’s chaos in the channel atm lol.

I think we’ve narrowed it down to being the holotype for Percnobraconoides Jojoba, as named by Marsh ('89), but potentially misidentified as Heterospilus Dory in ('82?) by Luhman - Specimen obtained and recorded by Cicero ('80) (taken in situ from a Jojoba branch (deceased)).

Completely unrelated to the bug discussion, sorry, but October 30th, 2016 is the founding day of the Galactic Hub Project!

A.K. Legend, the profile linked to in the memory, didn’t join ETARC until Aug 10, 2017.

Similarly to Klaxk being credited for the July 21, 2017 memory which it seemed only I submitted (he said he never submitted it), it seems the data within the memories is getting jumbled somehow.

Unless someone actually submitted an additional memory for that day. In which case, ignore this post lol, but the spreadsheet has no other submissions for Oct 30th 2016 except from other Galactic Hub citizens boosting the founding-day signal.

Another oddity is that the timestamp has been adjusted by 1 hour. My original submitted timestamp was 1477803271 (October 30, 2016 at 04:54:31), while theirs is 1477806840 (October 30, 2016 at 05:54:00). They increased it by almost exactly 1 hour - I got my time from the establishment of the r/NMSGalacticHub subreddit, which Reddit actually lists in UTC so it’s easy to get right, but maybe they went with my first post or maybe the data is corrupt?

I’m learning so much from all of you. Never heard of a Data Matrix before today. But now know it can be scanned to give out codes for a specimen or box of cereal in a supermarket lol. All very clever stuff!

There was a whole toy in the 90’s early 2000’s that was a barcode scanner and it would let you find creatures lol

the 1 hour adjustment is probably related to how The Architect is supposedly in France, which has the timezone of UTC +1

And sometimes UTC+2 (summertime)

I’ve attempted contact through Bluesky to correct the content of the memory. Not sure if it’s the right approach but worth a shot, I think.

Bonjour, Architecte.

“memory bloc 1477806840” fait actuellement rĂ©fĂ©rence Ă  la recherche d’un mystĂšre holographique. Je pense que le contenu est peut-ĂȘtre dĂ©formĂ© et que le memory bloc devrait plutĂŽt faire rĂ©fĂ©rence Ă  la fondation du Galactic Hub Project.

Hello, Architect.

“memory bloc 1477806840” currently refers to the search for a holographic mystery. I believe the content may be distorted and that the memory bloc should instead refer to the founding of the Galactic Hub Project.

Just placing this additional screenshot for a bit more information connecting the dots you already connected : D From the Smithsonian Natural History Museum Entomology search site.

It mentions Red Hill, Saguaro National Monument West, Tuscon Mountains and the coordinates you published earlier : )

In NMS we discover and (re)name animals.

Should we propose a new name @the_architect for Percnobraconoides jojoba Marsh parasitic wasp to commemorate in loving memory of a " gone but not forgotten" CSD member, @AkodoKusamoto ?

@thewingcmdr - wasn’t able to make contact with you in time but you are directed thusly:

'Operator. If you want to pay tribute to the Legend, do it on Tuscon planet.

In the desert, only dust remain.’
