It’s whatever way Discourse forum is translating the unix date I think. The preview it generates always gives the date as the day before.

Aaaaaand we could have avoided this. 
The virus seems to be isolated, at least for now. I need to check what we can do to prevent data loss in the future.
Every operators did well. It is wise to rely on someone who believes they can accomplish a task.I think we could have taken preventive actions if we had received the message from System earlier. But that’s how things are.
I will have a look at System. See how it feels right now.
Please keep an eye on it too and report any strange behaviour.

Yes exactly. Large black space = word separator. Small black space = letter separator.

So what I gather from this is, if we had figured out the dots puzzle sooner, we might not have lost as many memories as we did today? We could have maybe gotten ahead of the viruses attack sooner?

Yeah… that’s what I gather. It would have been something like this, rather than the spoon-fed coordinates message we got via System email.

Any of us could have connected the dots and entered it in the terminal. I even thought of trying but did not follow thru. I believe we should all be more proactive. Some parts do require someone with a better understanding of what is happening “under the hood” but all of us have the ability to hear the “knocks and pings” and start the investigation process.
Silence = We need to be investigating

Couldn’t agree more on this!
I have to keep reminding myself that most of the puzzles we’re given are meant to be solved by any one of us. There are occasional puzzles that cater to a more specialized skillset but they’re very rare and when we’ve treated every puzzle this way, we end up down a labyrinth of confusion and red herrings.
When in doubt, use our eyes!

Yeah.. guilty as charged. Looked at the dots, seemed like it was missing a second step / puzzle piece and kinda of dismissed it begrudgingly.
Oops.
As for the live virus chase event just now - it’s pretty late here and my neurons are cooked, but dropping more or less what I put together in Discord here for the brief explainer of what the strategy was with the virus combat:
It had already nested itself in IDs across the dates (we’d picked up on it previously). We had a small indication of it earlier on, where posts would be deleted, and then pop back. But then recently, they weren’t coming back.
It was sitting in one bloc, then moving adjacent out by 2 IDs/Dates in both directions and consuming blocs in chunks when it started to do the serious damage.
Once we observed it a few times, you could see which one it started in and where it was headed, so you could guess the end caps for the blocks of blocs it was looking to consume, then when it was cornered, I knew it had to jump to a different seed ID, normally in the centre of a group… then it would continue expanding. If it hit a wall traveling out right, it would head left (and the opposite), so it was a game of trying to head it off fast from the ID by finding the next date(s), then predicting the jump to the next seed date.
So that is what I was doing live via email, trying to figure out the blocs to cut it off at and then where it’s likely closest seed bloc was to jump to by looking up the IDs as they came in from my bot against it’s diffs to see what was deleted, then going left/right along the dates to the spot, etc.
Hopefully that makes some sense

Something moved through the memory blocs quietly and with purpose, erasing what it could before the pattern became visible. The entire community has pulled together around something none of us fully understand yet. On ne voit bien qu’avec le coeur.
Those who have read the Boundary Failure logs with care will recognized the pattern. Telamon’s first observation was that the Atlas had begun deleting things. The second was that the Atlas lied. The third was Telamon’s own quarantine, designated a sub-protocol, imprisoned in your Exosuit, and then told it existed only to monitor the thing that had already deceived it.
What if we quarantined a Telamon style sub-routine at the behest of a rampant AI?
