Base Pics are Amazing

Wow, thanks for the pic. That is amazing how you have those steps. I must try that.
I really like the look of that and love those steps too. Thanks again, too for the explanation of the pieces you used. That would be a blast to make methinks
Great job!

OMG why are people such jerks in the gaming world? I’m sorry you got griefed too. That’s why I was so apprehensive about this going multiplayer.
A lot of good games have been ruined after they went multiplayer.
Even though I have network turned off, I check it constantly. That one guy I mentioned who tried smacking me, then built his base in front of mine did the same thing. He renames two of my planets as soon as I named the system.
Sigh. Yep, I boot everyone who joins. There have still been a few people who have popped into my game after all the patches. I’m on PS4.

Fuck. Submit a report about people joining with network off, and I would mention that you want the return of the “play a single player session option”. I do that with every patch. Also if you start with your system offline then turn it on once the game is fully loaded it should help. Well it use to for sure, now I’m not as confident since they seem to have changed how reconnecting works.

Here is a preview of Angel Island, my future base. I may post some of these in the screenshot thread as well. I like this island because of the length, how it’s clearly floating, and its proximity to other islands. I also like the forest.

Beautiful island and planet! NIce pics! Have a great time building and enjoying your base!

Happy Traveling!

Thanks Sara,
I haven’t been bothered in a couple of days, but if it continues I am going to submit screen shots as well as reports to Hello Games.
I would love to have seen the single player option be brought back too. While I love Hello Games, and No Mans Sky, I don’t like to be forced to have to team up with people. There are tons of gamers who play to get away from people in real life. I’m one of them lol.
I don’t mind if someone for example from here would like to see my bases, etc or meet up in the game to say hello. That is nice, but I don’t hang out with people in real life, or in games.

You can have even more than three on a planet  you can build as many as you like, I’ve yet to hit a limit myself.

The key distinction is you can only have one base uploaded per planet, which you do manually from base computer. This will make the base visible to any travellers who happen upon it.

Also of note, if you have, say for example, ten bases on one planet, everybody in your four party lobby will see those ten bases so long as you remain online

Another thing I’ve noticed is sometimes the terrain modification you’ve caused around your base will not load in for other players until you walk up to the base to them, then it will pop in for everyone. This doesn’t seem to be an issue outside of lobby’s when visiting someone’s uploaded base.

While I’m at it, here’s a tip for everyone for getting old base components to line up with new ones. The corridors actually lock into the large wall segments.

If you place a corridor into a new large wall that’s joined to a floor tile, then place a cuboid room on the corridor, then delete corridor and wall and replace with cuboid room, the new floor tile will be level with the cuboid room for smooth transitions. This works with any part really, just using cuboid room as an example. Great if you want to place small single tile balconies around old base building parts etc.

I just hope no one falls off the balcony and sues me. If the base archives would work properly perhaps I could finish the place.

Hey just realised l, shelf panels make a great substitute for fluorescent lighting panels, perfect for your underground games room.

Combine with flat panels for added ornamentation

@sheralmyst are you still taking reservations? I imagine you’re fully booked. I could mind the place in the off season. I have no telepathic children so there’s no real risk there.

I love using stairs as rooves, especially concrete ones. I have several outposts in uncharted territories now, I’d have more only I keep getting carried away with the fine details and maybe far longer than one probably should on colour schemes. Will share it all soon

Edit: just noticed you also used stair peices for some nice angled support beams for the platform. Stealing that :joy:

Are there more than one kind of stairs? I’ve only seen the one for the cuboid rooms.

In the new base parts you learn from blueprint analyser, there are three families of materials, wood, concrete and metal, each with their own variants of several different room peices for building ranging from floors, walls, entrances, fencing, stairs, rooves, archways.

The concrete stairs in particular has a nice detached step with a single centre beam support look to it, really let’s the light in very nicely when used as a roof peice.

These new stairs do not play nice or connect with cuboid rooms unfortunately. I’ve noticed the cuboid room stairs itself has become very unweidldly.

The best way I’ve found to meld the old peices with the new peices is by running the straight corridors out of the new walls and connecting old buildings that way.

They don’t seem to lock in place any other way outside of this. Actually, original pavement does lock in with new floors but not in the way you think, though some nice features can be achieved combininf the two.

Thank you for all the tips. I’m a little afraid to do too many blueprints in the blueprint analyzer in case I eventually get a mission from one of my specialist to do something in the blueprint analyzer.

UPDATE: Black Mountain Resort lawyers can now rest easy. All new safety railing and actual roof now installed.

I’m going to add some final touches to some of the earlier uncharted system outposts I made and make a video tomorrow of the first batch.

For now heres some photos from two of the last three I made.

Looks like I’ve found out how far you can push a ps4 pro before it just says nah thats enough now. Game crashes as soon as I select photo mode, took a dozen reloads to get a shot… and I was only half done  (the portals inside the pyramid

Same issue here, so it’s not limited to PS4 with me being on PC (Steam). I am working on quite a large base and wanted to show my progress in this topic last night. Sadly enough, I am unable to, as Photo Mode will almost instantly crash/freeze my game. I might be able to make a video to show off my base, while sending in a bug report to Zendesk. Also about to create a Bug/Issue topic on this, if not created already by the time I have caught up. I would suggest to report this issue as well. Now that NEXT has been available for some time, I notice more and more players starting to run into this same issue.

Interesting, I didnt look at it as a bug. I was thinking it was a memory issue with my ps4 as deleting large chunks of my tower base in a different system helped, up to a point.
