Music Tastes among ETARCers?

This song dropped today… Feels fitting now that we have lost Historical_DB.

At least its upbeat, happy and a positive song about leaving. Maybe just what we operators need.

Two old ones, but my two favourite leaving songs, both upbeat about it.

(note if you know the Punk Bollweevils, this isn’t them)

More Popguns

The Popguns now (well, 3 years ago)

And the original of that song

Waiting for the Winter is one of my reset songs though. Go back to every couple of months, have done for years. Absolutely love it, I was 18/19 when it came out.

Meanwhile, The Bollweevils made possibly one of the (ahem) hottest songs of all time, hidden inside a catchy pop tune.

Playing the ‘1666: Amsterdam’ demo. I am intrigued so far and then pleasantly surprised by ‘Climbing Up the Walls’

Whenever there’s a lull in a conversation when out with friends I find myself saying “whatcha gonna do when ya get outta jail?!”.

That’s an amazing purchase, such a great album to have the artwork in full size <3

Glad I made it back for some of the fun in between smoke breaks.

Sharing my 65dos introductory memory tonight was a thrill.

Here is the first 65daysofstatic song I ever listened to, over a single shared earbud in my locals beer garden back in 2007.

Since I’m sharing musical memories…

When I was 16 in the early naughts, I also wrote a song called 23.

It was about imagining our future lives and who we’d be on our seperate paths, after my first real breakup. A sad but hopeful song about a brighter tomorrow, just out of reach on the horizon.

Still friends with them to this day and proud to call them a sister-in-arms :flexed_biceps:

Just gave Galactic Highways another listen and it so reminds me of a track from an old 1993 mix CD I got. Either track 5 or track 6 will match the beats quite well. I have linked to track 5 below, but you might find the the full CD interesting in general. To this day, I still find this a great compilation mix to be honest. Good ol’ days …

Thanks for that. I’ll be away for a day or so, but will definitely check it out.

A while back I heard Genevieve Artadi was making a lo-fi album inspired by music from the soundtracks of Anime they grew up watching.

They’ve released two other album projects since I heard that…

This feels like we might be finally seeing the fruits of those labours

New Record Days are always the best, been looking forward to this one.

Been a fan of this mans music since 1997 and one of the main reasons I started to learn to compose music, starting with a crappy little midi program on a crummt little windows 95 PC.

I made a great friend in secondary school because of this shared love of Uematsu’s music, who I still know to this day. I burned everything I could to CD and later, mini disc, for those days where japanese imports where completely out of reach and ordering online required a credit card, which nobody in my family even came close to having.

I remember those last few boring summer holidays where I wasnt old enough to be left behind like my siblings, and Id be dragged along by my parents to a sea side where the only things were pubs and no other kids. I would walk the beach or village for days just listening to Nobuo Uematsu hoping to see a kid my age.
