It’s Armageddon, I’m sure of it. They’re adding walking on asteroids, because the movie. Also, it’s pretty much the only pre-launch feature Sean mentioned that hasn’t been added back in yet. ---

I wonder what there will be to do on an asteroid? 😄 Low grav and very dusty? Small? Gather samples to be used in something new? ---

What I would really be able to do, is visit/clean bases on save games I don’t have any more. It doesn’t even need to be in game. ---

Now I’m wondering if we’ll see a 4.0 anniversary update before October. I know it’s not really that far off, and with my nose buried in my novel all day long, the days are slipping by at a pretty good clip. But it still seems like almost Christmas if true. I can’t remember if we’ve had an update any sooner than two or three months before the next. ---

I read that, though I wasn’t sure they meant it as “the” anniversary update. If so, they could be setting up 4.0 to be an Updatepalooza they could release any time. It does seem a little odd, but maybe 4 could be a holiday update. As for what it could be? I’m thinking… Lore stuffs. 😁 ---

Had all my equipment turned off 🙄 Nice surprise though, as I just upgraded my ‘Pirate Save’ Capital Ship before turning off last session. Downside is my download time started 5 minutes ago with only a shoestring internet signal. 😑 Maybe by the time its uploaded I’ll be just in time for a patch…and more waiting 🤪 ---

Nah they are clearly avoiding 4.0 as much as possible. We got an expedition about to start. 5-6 weeks likely maybe a 2nd expedition to bring us to Oct? ---

Yea. They seriously holding back from 4.0. They have something planned still. What’s good to note is that the anniversary updates doesn’t fall in the same week that the game originally released, they are quite a bit out So an October 4.0 update is very likely. The farthest they’ve pushed it, but completely understandable that they would want to release it at the same time as Switch. ---

If they are updating parts of the game in some order, the station interiors and planet variety might be coming soon. My guess is that, at the least, station interiors is next because they have the skill now to procedurally generate rooms and decorations and populate them with NPCs dynamically. I imagine that the stations would look vastly different based on economy, conflict level and the dominant race. I have a feeling that some form of ship customisation may be coming too but that’s only because freighters now have cosmetic decorations that implies customizing your ships on board. ---

The fact that some screenshots show “large asteroid field can be taken as large in size” may be a clue. ---
