I have noticed this too. I have also noticed a rendering issue with the minerals when viewing them in this menu.

I changed the title to include more than just “Fauna Sizing”.
Going through my Discoveries, I see Rendering, Flora, etc.
Also
Sometimes the discovery shows, but not it’s associated “icon”.
Or - the icon doesn’t show during the moment of analyzing.

Yesterday, I went back in my Survival Mode since the BEYOND update,
and this what I find…
Should the tail show? - Maybe display the whole creature on screen?
This mineral looks okay, but just wasn’t sure about the top of it.
