Am I right to assume that the fish you catch are completely unrelated to what creatures are actually present in the planets ocean? ---

Yup, they seem to be related to the bait used and the conditions caught in. Some bait is for catching rare fish during storms, others for rare fish at night, I think the standard baits might catch a variety of fish in all conditions but I’m just going off the descriptions, have yet to try it properly or look at all the different bait types. I’ve decided I’m making a packed lunch as it seems like the thing fisherman do. Sandwiches and buns and a coffee. Then Fishing. ---

Sooo… the fish _do_ actually show in the ocean? Well, that’s something at least. I guess that makes them roughly equivalent to all the GrahBerries and whatnot. ---

- Automated Traps are available to research in the Space Anomaly. These self-sustaining units are an alternative to manual angling, and will attract fish as appropriate for the water conditions in which they are placed. So if I place a trap during a storm it will always catch storm fish? Will have to science this I guess. - Those who do not wish to consume or sell their catch may release their fish back into the water. This is nice 👍 - New music tracks have been added to accompany the fishing experience. New tunes? Fishing was worth it, screw you @Polyphemus 😉 ---

Can’t wait to comb through and share some of my catches, I can see this thread becoming a showroom similar to the Archaeology threads etc when that was introduced , also screenshoting everything for later cropping and will update the worlds update lore thread with photos/transcript as I get there. The Vanguard and now The Angler… V… A… My god. VA are the first two letters of VOID 😛 I kid but now I’m thinking vanguard/void… Angler/Abyss 🤣 if a joke theory about vague clues turns out to be correct, it still counts as being correct right? ---

When the water first got updated, it didn’t interact with anything which was understandable. Ships etc would just kinda stay hovering slightly above it and waves would just pass through them so it didn’t look too odd. I thought after updating that it was just the fish traps and fish lure that were bobbing on water now but I just noticed my ship with aquajets (as well as several other fisherfolk gathered around with aquajet ships) is also bobbing up and down with the waves during a sea storm \<3 Please correct me if I’m wrong but I’m positive this didn’t happen with worlds part 1 before this update? ---
